I don't believe it's been changing out traps because I revisited the temple several times and the layout that is set never changes. The traps are always the same per layout. I noticed each time I visited the emotion pressure plate never appeared in all 5 layouts and I went at least 15 times in two different vacations, each a different sim for testing purposes.
