[LS] Sims cancel romantic interactions (Woohoo/TFB/Break Up/..)

I've had this glitch happening on my game for several months now and there doesn't seem to be any direct thing causing it, it just seems to happen when I start playing a second or later generation of the same family. I have two sims fall in love, get thru all the initial romance interactions ( ie reveal crush, first date, first kiss) and after the sims are official romantic partners the game refuses to complete ANY romance interaction. Once I queue the two sims up, even with a full queue of interactions the game will attempt to complete the first interaction, then suddenly my sims "crash" or "reset" themselves as if I inputted the "Reset.Sim" cheat. Thats the only thing I can compare it to, every other interaction is totally fine, their romance satisfaction will even go up as if they did in fact complete a romance interaction, but then real problems begin as the relationship goes on (my sims start to feel distant, relationship fears pop up and my sims can't address them the correct way, auto breakup messages start popping up, etc). This happens with sims that are not explicitly romantic partners as well, like if I use the same sim and get them to flirt with another sim the crash out continues. I've tried literally everything; repairing the game, moving the sims to a different lot, saving the sims and creating a new file, the only thing that sometimes works is if I load up the game after a repair and the very first interaction I do is a woo hoo or a kiss. I want to say this started when I downloaded the romance pack, I've tried to use that pack and those settings in every possible way to make it work but it has lead me down the same path of my sims resetting at the first romance interaction. I also noticed the sim weddings became even more buggy than they were when Wedding Stories came out. Someone please heeeelp 😭 My current legacy challenge is so corrupted that the matriarchs have ZERO romance interactions available besides "gaze lovingly at new spouse" I'm wondering if that's a separate issue from My Wedding Stories?
