Sim joined painter career, promoted as normal until level 6 where we have to choose a career path. After this, no more promotions, just earning a raise. I tried with multiple careers and it still occurs. Every time my sim finishes work and starts daily task, the performance bar rests from excellent to average.

So this congratulation on the job promotion just came in and it's been almost 2 days now since he got the promotion? The other two have not been working so there is no confusion as to whose promotion it is about.
Experiencing the same the past week. Very weird.
I'm running into the same thing with my sim. She is level 9 on the astronaut career and has been getting raise after raise after raise (which is great for her bank account), but she hasn't been promoted to level 10.
I’ve been having this issue as well with all of my sims across all households. I play on Xbox so no CC or mods.
EA_Solaire Would it be possible for you to pin your request at the top of this thread as people don't seem to scroll down far enough to find it and wondering why you still need info.
Maybe because they requested game saves and they have not received enough of them or maybe they're busy looking through them to figure it out. If you scroll down far enough you will see the request.
Why does the status of this still say Needs Info when it is a widely experienced bug? Are they ever going to do anything about it?
I have been saying there is something odd going on game-wise that affects many things. Just now I was reminded of an important one that could be causing all sorts of problems maybe. The screenshot above in which you can see my sim finally got promoted shows I posted it approximately 23 hours ago. Just now, I got a message from his mother congratulating him on his big promotion. That is one heck of a delay. I don't have any snapshots but it's happened with achievements too. Something is out of whack with the system.
There is a delay on sims following commands, if they even do. The mom in my family will just stand doing nothing for a long long period of time. Well she talks out loud to herself a little but won't do anything unless her husband or fiancé talk to her and snap her out of it. Maybe this should be a separate post but I figured it was appropriate atm here so you can see the timeline.
In neither of the careers my sims get promoted. They are only earning a raise.
I would be curious as to what would happen if you quit your job, moved to a different house for like two minutes, then moved back and reapplied for your job.
I know this wouldn't tell you why it happened, but if you're mainly looking to get past the problem, I'm wondering if it would work. Not quite the same experience for me, but I did something similar and I think that is what fixed it. Not positive though.
