I'm really worried that there won't be a fix as this problem is apparently related to EA's zeal to minimize game sizes in order to optimize the game. Can you imagine them rolling this optimization back?
Who is tasked with minimizing the game size? Apparently not anyone who plays legacy or with rotating households. If they even play sims.
I have a terrible suspicion that they have already left this task to an artificial intelligence because it is super efficient at calculating numbers. I would really like to hear someone tell me that I see ghosts.

I don't think they intended to wipe out pictures entirely, but they definitely intentionally reduced the resolution on all photos including older ones that were made prior to that decision.
There's another thread where the low-res images are being lamented and we're begging the devs to give us the OPTION to create higher res ones and manage our own risks when it comes to game save file sizes.

Thanks for your reply.
I have already written a comment in that thread as a reply to Down-in-Simsland investigations. In-game photos have become blurry, as if compressed | EA Forums - 12512904
I am quite frustrated by the poor quality of large images which have become very blurry. I really wish there was a setting to play with different settings when it comes to game sizes.
