Same here with LE 😁
The scandal on my Sims had actually expired, but it worked. Always create a LE, and when I reloaded, the scandal was reset to 7 days.
I also have a workaround: You can simply disable scandals in the game options and reload the household, then everything will be gone. That was the case for me.
