I was trying to use the same trick from a youtube video about making fake cellar doors, after I was done doing said try the whole roof I used disappeared. I've never had things disappear on me in build by before even in base game.
LoneFox113 Could you post a link to the video please? I can't really tell what you are trying to do. I want to see if I can replicate it. I do see that the invisible roof is off the grid though and that might be why it went invisible on you but not sure.

LoneFox113 I aplogize for the delay in getting back to you. I finally the time to do some testing. Thanks for the link to the vid. I followed the directions and successfully made the fake cellar door. I didn't have any issues with it going invisible like you show in your pic. I showed up in place as it should, but I did notice the issue when I grabbed and held it. The sides stayed visible, but the roof part did turn invisible while I was holding it. It did return to visibility when I let go and it did remain visible when I clicked on it without grabbing it though. I has been a while since I built something and don't remember if it always worked that way or is a recent change. I kinda like it though as it makes it easier to see where the footprint is.
