[S] Ice Proof Sim freeze to death/get chilled moodlet (Patch 1.120.140)

In general I've seen an uptick of played Sims being auto-killed by the system.  This rarely happened before getting the Life and Death package.  In my current game, while playing the same household across , I've had 4 deaths of my played Sims in, I'd say less than a week of playing time.  The first two were played sims that were not active.  The last two, within two days at the most, were with an active Sim freezing to death.  This Sim has ALL the cold weather attributes including one that says he won't be adversely affected bye cold / freezing weather (I'm paraphrasing). I can't remember the details of the first, but the system gives no way to prevent this from happening.

The latest, the Sim returned home from work and joined his partner who was already celebrating with a group at the bar.  I saw the Sim arrive, in normal color, almost immediately I clicked him to make an action and he was blue.  My instinctual action was to have him walk to the bar so he was inside.  I saw he was headed to the fire to warm up.  I quickly canceled the current request and clicked on him to complete warming at the fire, and found he was automatically walking back outside to the cold!  It was like I was fighting a no win battle against the system.

What I would expect would include any one or combination of the following.

  1. he'd automatically put on appropriate cold weather clothes when traveling to a colder climate.
  2. His traits would kick in so he'd enjoy the cold weather vs freezing.
  3. If my Sim didn't have these traits, or not specifically the freezing one, I'd expect a Sim might occasionally freeze to death but not unless I left him out in the cold for a long time; like at an event without out appropriate clothing, or on a long jog in freezing weather.
  4. Alternately, in that last scenario, I immediately brought him into action inside the bar when brought to the location, or quickly changed into cold weather clothes, the sim would warm up and not die.

I realize having one of your played Sims turn into a Ghost makes using the new Ghostly features more enticing, but give me a break.....

Fortunately I save often to prevent losing too much game play when one of many crashes or uncontrollable deaths occur.  I go back to the main menu without saving and find out where I have to live Groundhog Day.  Unfortunately, we all know, there is no Groundhog Day.  You never get the same options even if you could remember exactly what you did and in what order.

Please check these algorithms and ensure the triggers for those rare events you force an active Sim to die adhere to safeguards the player has put into play for the Sim.

Please add this to a 'One of the Most Irritating Game Play Situations' list.

Not that it should matter in this instance, but I'm on a Mac.  Game and Mac fully updated.  No mods now or ever.

My sim has both cold and heat acclimation as well as both ice proof and heat proof traits, but they dont work. they still get negative moodlets along with the positive moodlets.

  • This still occured, my sim has anti ice and anti heat traits both 500 and 2000 one.  But she still got freezed by freezing temperature, all I do now is turn off temperature effect on sims cause it's annoying.

If you wanna try it, try it yourself. Buy anti cold traits 500 and 2000 one. And let your sim stand in freezing temperature, your will still get the freezing uncomfortable moodlet. Even mine is also using the cold weather outfit and inside room, but it doesn't help.

Like anti cold 500 + anti freeze 2000 + cold weather outfit + inside room should be pleasantly chill +2 happy instead of +1 uncomfortable chilled moodlet.

And no it's not a ghost effect, there is literally 0 ghost I encountered. You messing up with how temperature works on sim especially the one with temperature immune traits.

I am unphantomably disappointed with the game now it is mindboggling, you crush my heart like child wanting an Ipad for Christmas instead he got a bug, literal hardened bug.

And I will not send my save files because I already give instructions on how to recreate the scenario. If you actually care about the game do it yourself.

Here I repeat one more time

    1. Create new game
    2. Create sim
    3. Choose winter
    4. Pick a lot that has snow in winter  (willow creek is fine)
    5. Buy anti cold trait 500 and anti freeze trait 2000
    6. Change to cold weather outfit and go inside
    7. Wait until temperature freezing
    8. And boom +1 uncomfortable chilled moodlet

I also remember On God that my sim gets death by freezing moodlet before I turn off temperature effects on sim. So yea I hope you stop sending me to the edge with these kinda thing, it's miserable.
