Something I noticed regarding this and as I suspected seems to be connected with the hobbies pack:
When the sim has the indoorsy Lifestyle they see ( on a lot that has a residential business) the private part of the lot as 'inside' and the 'public' area as outside.
Because they will get the moodlet that they are content indoors when they are in the private part of the lot, and the 'losing indoorsy lifestyle' moodlet when they spend some part in the public part of the lot. Even if it's inside. Seems they might have changed something about inside/outside to accommodate having wandering sims inside your house and treating it like it's actually outside/public space.
When there is a thunderstorm sims are also now safe when they are in the private part of the house and safe from meteors, if it's a normal residential lot without the distinction public/private the game sees them always as being outside and they can get hit by lightning. They will also get a moodlet that they are outside if they have the indoorsy lifestyle.
That's probably why it hasn't been fixed yet, because it might break the new pack. Since they broke seasons in order for it to work apparently.
Lifestyles are from Snowy Escape, they are not from Businesses and Hobbies. They are years old. That said, yes, the outdoorsy lifestyle also appears to have confusion between indoors and outdoors, which is why this is not likely to be a "structural" build mode issue but something stranger.

I know that. But previously they would fit and now because of this they won't.
It's raining, snowing indoors and sims can get hit by lightning.
So it seems that indoors is now also some type of outdoors.
Like the public space from the new pack is a type of outdoors.
They made residential lots some type of outdoors to allow it to have a public space.
The public space and Private behave differently and get tagged by the Snowy Escape pack as some type of outdoors( public) and some type of indoors(private).
They messed with outdoors/indoors for this pack, yes in the months leading up to the new pack. It's a totally new thing they did by having retail on a residential lot and it likely caused this issue.
They know this is the No1 issue for simmers atm and I assume they are trying to fix it ASAP. Only reason they haven't I would guess is that it would break the whole game, including the new pack they are trying to sell.
