yeah I've same issue here, what I do is:
1. Reinstall game (not solved)
2. do move the sims folder at documents to desktop and re-open game and bring back save and delete cache folder (not solved)
3. Allow ea or the sims through internet at firewall settings (not solved)
Idk what to do, I can open galery my library but while open galery the item stuff have crossing sign
