Whenever my Sims interact with Sims outside my household, all social interactions cause a drop in both friendship and romance levels, instead of increasing or staying the same.
This issue occurs consistently in every save and I have no mods or custom content enabled.
I have tried restarting the game and clearing the cache, but the problem persists and negatively affects normal relationship gameplay.

On Mac. This also happens without mods and I think it is not related to the other Social Interaction Decrease bug, because this has been happening since HY pack release. I also have fears turned off, so it's not related to that.
New pc, fresh install of the game no mods etc. Checked the traits of said sim, and it's definitely not natural xpack issues
This is a bug plain and simple. I just wish EA would quit focusing on their Money and actually update..
It is NOT file problems, mods, or gameplay antics.
Hello! I've encountered a bug/error when communicating with other Sims. No matter who I start a conversation with, any friendly interaction triggers a negative reaction from them. My Sim's communication meter is constantly low. I'm worried about her... I don't want to become everyone's enemy without reason...

I made a married Sims couple and their toddler. I wanted them to have another baby shortly after starting my save. Any romantic interaction failed. I double-checked their sexual compatibility, and they were attracted to each other. I changed their relationship dynamic to steamy, but that didn't help. Any other interaction was fine and worked normally. I have no mods currently installed. This is the first time I've had this issue. It all started on 2/12/2026 after the new royalty expansion pack and update.
UPDATE/FIX: the fix for me was going into game settings and unchecking “enable ailment spread”, “enable balance & imbalance”, and “enable luck”. I would like to add that none of the sims I tested this with before unchecking these things had bad luck or an imbalance or an ailment. It is a bug. I have enchanted by nature. If you do not and you are dealing this issue I am not sure of a fix, but for me this worked thankfully, otherwise, I couldn’t play.
I am having the same issue. All of my positive interactions are taken negatively. Everything from a joke to asking about their day and everything in between. When I interact with my horse it work as intended. Sim to sim, not going well at all. This is a new bug for me. Makes the game completely unusable. Very frustrating.
I am on PC. Fully up to date on game updates. Mods don’t appear to be the issue.
Went to several different households across different worlds, ones I’ve never played, sent a sim from that household out into the world, every time they interact with any other sim this happens.
I'm having the same issue. There's nothing going on with the sims themselves, but every time my sim does a friendly interaction, the friendship drops by 10 points. My sister was having this issue about a week ago as well.
Every time my sim gets bad luck (maybe 2-3 days every week) EVERY friendly or romantic interaction fails, even with friends or partner. I expect this to be more balanced because it's impossible to communicate with other sims on those days and it's quite difficult to get better luck if I'm not playing with the apothecary skill.

No matter what interaction I choose, rather it be, friendly, funny, or mischievous the conversation goes nowhere. Even when both Sims are completely happy with full needs. It just keeps going down and turns into an unpleasant or offensive conversation.
Why does it seem like everyday my game breaks more?!? I already can't do anything with the high school years pack that I spent almost almost 60 dollars on cause everything about the pack is broken, from prom, to graduation, to career day, to just sending my sims to high school, now it seems like everything else and other packs are breaking left and right.
EA please for the love of all things SIMS fix your game!!! Cause I didn't spend hundreds to $1,000 on these packs to not be enjoying playing the game anymore cause everything is broken.
