I had this bug. I think my sim married one of those npcs. I love Asian and Japanese culture but diversity is important, and sometimes the name doesn't match the ethnicity. So I'm glad it's on laundry list.
Me too and yes it is. Only in my game, I swear 98% of npcs have the Asian names. I am sure my estimate isn't accurate but I do not feel like it is far off. I can't imagine how they can improve this system but I think in this instance we can forgive racial profiling for the sake of npc names making some kind of sense lol.
