"EA" Launcher is just the most terrible launcher I have ever used
"EA" Launcher is just the most terrible launcher I have ever used (worst than Ubisoft). The worst part is that it was forced to me if I wanted to keep using the games I had on Origin. It's driving me nuts. Leave a comment/upvote to let the prog teams know.17KViews100likes61CommentsNo possibility to play offline
I don't know if this is just the beta version (cause of telemetry and stuff) but I want to make sure to give this feedback There NEEDS to be an option to go offline. That is currently not the case. Many games have offline modes and many people have bad Internet. Please Please Please, I beg you, have an offline mode in the full version.Solvedcrinrict5 years agoHero+56KViews32likes68CommentsWe need a shopping cart!
There is still no shopping cart! It would have been a very convenient option to have with the EA app since Origin didn't have it. I have one game pack and most of the kits to buy for TS4, but I really just don't want to buy each kit one by one... It's quite the inconvenience. Please add a shopping cart!Solvedrjssim3 years agoSeasoned Ace6.2KViews25likes24CommentsPop-up in Origin about EA app which can't be closed
Hi everyone. I have been playing Sims 3 through Origin for many years now, but today am having issues. When I open Origin I get a message pop up which says "The EA app is your new home for PC gaming. Now's the time to upgrade. Install the EA app and log in with your EA Account to find all your games waiting for you". As far as I can tell, there is no way of closing this message and so I can't launch/play any of my games in Origin. I have tried EA App twice now and do not want to use it as I had issues with it. I had issues downloading newly purchased games and some games would not launch at all. I will not use EA App if I can avoid it. Is there any way that I can minimise this message and continue using Origin for now?28KViews24likes90CommentsShutdown the EA App and go back to Origin
Shutdown the EA App and go back to Origin. The EA app is useless, doesn't work and is causing you to hemorrhage users because its locked us out of playing our paid for games. Filing support tickets are pointless they just get closed without a reply. Just shut it down, fire everyone who worked on the app, go back to Origin and pretend it never happened.2.3KViews23likes21CommentsThe New EA App is The Worst Gaming App Ever
It amazes me that a company this influential and wealthy can develop an app that can prevent me from downloading games, viewing my game library, and launching my games. It is inexcusable. I didn't get around to actually writing this feedback down because I still had the option of using Origin, which wasn't the best gaming app, but it did its job. You could view your games, and launch them without issue. All of a sudden, they forced me to use their grotesque new EA App to play their games, but funny enough they couldn't get me to, because I CAN'T PLAY MY GAMES TO BEGIN WITH. I have tried every single troubleshoot fix on this forum, and yet none of them work. I have reinstalled the app several times, changed my game directory, changed my antivirus settings, changed my application launch settings, and I have even reinstalled Windows at least three times to see if it was just me. The worst part of it all is the feedback from the EA community team. The live chat service gives the absolute worst support, and the forum posts are almost never responded to, and if they are responded to, the support team will mark their "solutions" as accepted, when THEY DON'T WORK. It is absolutely deplorable what this company is doing.3.9KViews22likes14CommentsMisleading switch from origin to ea app
Why push to move customers/gamers from a working program to a non working program? We have all paid alot of money of the years to play our games which currently is not working with new ea app. If it aint broken ... why fix it ? I need compensation from not being able to access the games ive paid for !4.8KViews21likes33CommentsKEEP EA IN OFFLINE MODE!!!
So I do not have internet access at home, and I used to play sims all day. Now I can't even play my sims, I'm just lucky to have hotspot on my phone to be able to at least start it up, which is limited. When I run out of GB for this month, I have no idea what I'm going to do... I'm so sad, and the reason I even got into the Sims was to be able to have an offline game I could immerse myself into for hours at a time. I DO PUT MY EA APP INTO OFFLINE MODE, but anytime I turn off the PC or have to reboot it, it requires internet connection to open EA therefore access to sims. So no internet connection? No sims ☹️ I honestly do not find the EA user friendly, if anything, IT IS AGAINST THE USER!10KViews19likes23CommentsEA App Feedback
#1) You can't even control the installation directory, only the directory that games are installed to... are you [removed] SERIOUS EA!? #2) No launch command options such as using "+fps_max 144" and other useful launch commands for troubleshooting or performance tuning. (cm edit - updated thread removed language)3.9KViews18likes17CommentsEA App Is A Complete Mess
Why are we still being forced to use the EA Desktop app if we have the gamepass? It's honestly the most poor excuse for an interface out there. One of the most simple features doesn't even work, being the Remember Me feature. I constantly have to log back in no matter how many times I click to save my name. Another fun new bug is since BF2042 released, I know have to uninstall and reinstall the EA App so my games will download updates, otherwise it just continuously force stops the updates instantly before even calculating the size. I've had this app for a about a half a year now, and I still can't put a desktop icon for any of the games; which also ties in to the fact that I can't play even single player games if I can't get online. It's kind of wild how EA is just openly getting away with releasing content that's not even half finished, and the response is always "it is what it is." This app is garbage. I don't get why EA is chilling on not one, but TWO horrible desktop apps. Absolutely wild.7.8KViews18likes5CommentsEA Desktop can't repair downloaded game
I've downloaded Titanfall 2 tonight. Now I can't play because the game files are corrupted. I have to uninstall and download all the 48GB again because there isn't an option to check game files and repair it. Very disappointing, hope that it get this option soon or at least when out of beta.22KViews16likes29CommentsEA Desktop client custom installation folder
Please give users the ability to change the directory where EA Desktop installs its main client. I'm not refering to the installation directory of the games themselves, rather the EA Desktop application, as some users prefer to keep their System drives clear of any unnecessary programs (such as those who have their System drives on an M.2 drive), or prefer to install them on a separate HDD/SDD for better program/app management. Having the installer automatically proceed installing upon double-clicking without prompts also presents some security issues as well.Solved20KViews16likes36CommentsSuggestion | EA Desktop app should support Steam games.
At the moment only Origin is supported through Steam, it would be nice to get a small update to allow EA Desktop to be used along with Origin. Ever since I got access to this client I uninstalled Origin completely from my computer and haven't touched it since.5.1KViews14likes9CommentsDid EA forgot to add "Enable cloud sync" option from Origin in EA app?
In origin, you were always able to disable cloud storage. People did this for numerous reasons: - Their connection is slow and this resulted in them having to wait long before they can start playing or shut down their pc. - Cloud sync errors resulted in settings getting wiped resulting in them having to reconfigure their entire game. In EA Desktop, some users within my community have noticed this is no longer an option in EA app? It seems to me that this is a forgotten feature because it only costs more money for EA now that more users are forced to use cloud storage and because more complaints will be submitted when users have cloud sync issues due to their personal bad connection or EA servers going offline. Is it possible to submit this feedback to the EA app DEV's and see if they can add this option again?1.8KViews13likes3CommentsATTN: EA App developers and project managers, please read this
I am writing this as a user who has several EA games purchased on Steam. They worked fine for me through Origin Thin Client until I reinstalled Windows a few days ago and Steam installed the new EA App instead. You claim that this application is "out of open beta" and ready to replace Origin Thin Client. I disagree and here is why: 1. It defaults to syncing saved games to cloud storage and this cannot be disabled neither globally, nor per game. This is also a basic feature. 2. It includes EABackgroundService which runs at all times using the highly privileged NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account. This is not only unnecessary (running it while EA App is not running), but it also presents a security risk because it increases the attack surface available for malware writers. There is absolutely no need for having system privileges or a background service for this kind of app. The proof is that Steam does not need it or use it and yet it works fine. The only reason I can think of for having this is for shady purposes and I don't like where that thought is going. 3. When you open it, it defaults to "home" tab which shows ads for new releases. As far as I am aware, it is not possible to set it to default to my game collection. This is a fairly basic feature. Out of those 3 issues, #1 is an absolute showstopper and the app should not be released until and unless it has proper cloud save management. Let me elaborate a bit on why this is a showstopper: - I tried to launch Mass Effect Legendary Edition and the EA App started and just sat there while my game was not launching. I killed the EA App after one minute and tried again only to be told that the cloud sync was interrupted. Since there's no option to disable cloud save sync I had to wait several minutes for my saves to upload (even if I did not want them uploaded!) before I coul play with absolutely no indication of the sync progress or any launching progress whatsoever. - I then tried to launch Mass Effect Andromeda and I could not launch it because I have more than 1 GB of local saves. EA App "helpfully" told me to delete some of my local saves and try again. No thanks, I want to keep all my local saves (which I am perfectly capable of backing up myself) and I don't want your cloud sync at all. So, the options were -- lose saves or not play the game. How did that pass QA? I uninstalled EA App and manually installed Origin Thin Client as a workaround. I am saying this as a senior software engineer myself -- these kind of issues should not exist in beta, let alone in something you deem production ready. My advice is -- pull it back from Steam and fix the aforementioned issues before forcing a switchover from Origin Thin Client, or you are going to have a lot of really bad PR very soon.STG_Mordin3 years agoRising Hotshot2.4KViews13likes7Comments
