Overtime clock suggestion
Been thinking about this for a while and would like to put a suggestion forward: I would like to have an option for the overtime period length to be real-time, rather than prorated to the regulation period length. Basically overtime kind of sucks because I want the 3 on 3 hockey, but it feels like it goes by wayyyy too quickly and then I have to deal with a shootout which kind of kills the vibe. To build on this, I think it would be awesome to be able to make your own overtime rules. Something like: Overtime Skaters: 3<->4<->5 Overtime Period length: same options as regulation period length Overtime Period Amount: 1 (like the regular season, after the period ends, moves on to a shootout or ends the game in a tie)<->Unlimited (like playoff overtime rules) Shootout: ON<->OFF Gameclock style: Real-Time (clock starts at selected period length and counts down in real time) <-> Accelerated (current gameclock behaviour) Would also be cool to have a non-sudden death overtime option, like how it works in basketball or baseball, where the full period is played out regardless of if there's a goal scored or not. EA_Aljo I need you to pass this on to the dev team, please. The goalies in WOC are abysmal; the 70 OVR rating they have is way too low. In my last game, there was a total of 9 goals scored on 13 shots. Every forehand backhand goes in on them regardless. I have a solution to this. Please increase the ratings of the goalies in WOC to around 80. PLEASE. Unplayable scripted garbage!!!
The CPU reacts faster, shoots faster, skates faster and makes total unreal plays! Both of these are way too overpowered. I can't skate in the vicinity of someone with truculence without getting knocked down for 30+ seconds. That is real fun. With wheels, I don't know how many more times I can have players just casually skate by the computer Defense and score the same goal over and over and over and over and over. You can't play a normal game because you are constantly covering for non-existent Defense and players take way too advantage of this. The only fix is to take out wheels at this point. OK so here’s a thought. Now that player stats such as skating speed and shot power are a tangible thing from EDGE, set in MPH, how does that now coincide with gameplay sliders. So if gameplay sliders such as Game Speed and Skating Speed also affect EDGE stats how is this calculated. I guess what I’m asking is for the EDGE stats to be realistic, how do the gameplay sliders need to be set. Example: McDavid made 24.61 mph the other night. Is he going to do that in CHEL at game speed level 0 or 6, and/or skating speed level 0 or 100? Same goes for shot power etc. The mind boggles. Almost like gameplay sliders could be completely redundant if the game was made as a proper sim using real world stats. Any thoughts on this? Objective vs Game play.
I have inquired a few times in past texts as to why there is no definitive meaning to the word HIT in this game. Hit vs body check. What is the difference? Is not a body check considered a hit. In game stats you have hits. You get an objective calling for body checks. After the game. The objective shows 7. The game stat shows 0. A check is the impediment of an opposing players motion by body contact. A hit. Is considered in that same description. The severity may differ, but the outcome is the same. Every year I watch as players vie to acquire well known named players. The McDavids, Mathews, Makars, Mckinnons. Just to name a few. This game has players believing that the picture on the card is a replication as to how that player plays in real life. The AI cannot distinguish what face is on the card. It is formatted to algorithms that are preset. What players should be trying to acquire, are player cards with the 3 attributes that can be somewhat verified. Speed, Acceleration and Endurance. All other attributes have no way of verifying if they are accurate. The game throws up numbers as to shot power and several other skills. But those numbers are anything but accurate. I had my Hudson card in one game register a slap shot st 124.4mph. What player on this planet has ever had a slapshot at that speed. First thing is first, Hats off to the EA NHL Team on a good game they built this year. There’s definitely some changes with the gameplay and different modes they diligently worked on this past year. Some of the impressions of the game was the speed, this years game is faster and there is better skating. Second, there is better defending. I have noticed it is really easy playing defence this year than last year as there is more enhanced backwards skating. With all the impressions, let’s look at the few things that should be implemented or patched and they’re real simple for me. Bring the mypro intros to offline or online gameplay, I wish there were tunnel entrances for the offline modes. Second, make the red full pressure boards optional, not all of us enjoy the red boards flashing. Third, make the passing icon indicators optional as they were optional in last years game. Overall, a little more work has to be done on this game. It is good so far, but there needs to be more changes as stated previously. I would rate the game a 7/10. It is a step up from last years game, but the full pressure meter boards and the passing icons and intros need to change in order for me to give a better rating. Other than that, good job EA! With the massive Be A Pro let down, the same annoying bugs in the game for all these years, false advertisement, AI IQ that continues to leave players scratching their head (on-ice IQ but as well as management IQ i.e. in franchise mode being able to trade a 2nd round pick for a low elite prospect taken top 20 in the draft AND a third rounder and the team accepting acts like you’re doing them a favour on hard trade difficulty) I’m interested to see how many people are still willing to pay $100 for a product that has shown time & time again it’s not here to improve, but here to profit. My take: the blatant disrespect for one of the most dedicated player bases in gaming has done it for me, 26 will be my last chel. We have beats partnerships and horrid Celebrini voice acting while world of chel dressing rooms are still polluted with bugs and have been for 10 ish years, AI IQ makes Helen Keller look like Nikita Kucherov, and the games CAREER MODE sitting UNCHANGED FOR 5 STRAIGHT RELEASES. And then when you finally “update” it, you add a terrible form score that only applies to one person in the entire league which is you, you add a world juniors option, make it EXTREMELY HARD (not for me let’s get that clear 🙂↕️) to stay on the roster or even make it to begin with, BUT DON’T HAVE THE OPTION TO RETURN TO WORLD JUNIORS IN THAT SEASON?! Why?! Please I need to know where the common sense is when you’re making this game! So I played in a league yesterday LMSHL and the leading scorer center for this league (had 0 points in my game they still won though lol) kept reverse hitting me off the face off (still beat him on the face offs too) about 7 times. he still lost the face-offs, but the hits were disruptive to my ability to play defense as a Center which led to 2 instances of me not being able to recover off the hit energy low which led to 2 goals. The only way i could counter it was becoming predictable with the tie up which he then stick lifted and when i did anything else reverse hit. This should either be removed or coded for an interference penalty he had warrior on red and unstoppable on red with big rig as well I believe. I understand why desperation shots were all over the start of 25 because they wanted to showcase the new mechanic, but why is the computer jumping to try and shoot every cross crease one timer off the rush in this game. And now im telling you why. Overall and ability boost are joke. Why if you played theme team (senators, pinguins, kings etc) very hard to get those boosts? Why you can combo those ovr boosts? Very fun play when i have other life too when my best players ovr 86 and my opponent 92 when he use broken +6 overall boost. Salary boosts out of the game as quickly as possible. Who enjoy when you team cap 80 million and opponent 120? Master set players too easy do. I'm free to play player and i can do every promo 2-3 msp cards. I think my older nhl games hut teams and i have max 1 master set player per promo if that too. And lastly fix the menus and gameplay. Menu slowest years and gameplay awful. Pokecheck too weak, goalies worst ever, how they save A+ chance close to goal but dont save bug goal or blue line slapshot? And why this game removed penalties? If you don't hit from behind or pokecheck puck from behind, you'll almost never see powerplays or powerkills this game. And lastly this things say veteran hut player whose first NHL game was nhl15, so i know really good how play this game and how hut works.
