What happens when the bug occurs? Right after today's update, my Sims are suddenly incessantly insulting each other autonomously. They are a family that are all good friends, no mischief traits or skills, no previous issues whatsoever. I've never had a sim insult anyone autonomously, and now it happens several times per minute of play. What do you expect to see? No autonomous insulting. Hey all! This thread is for those of you who see the Events tab (seen below) on the Main Menu and have the Grim icon in game, but do not see any quests available AKA "No Plumbob Icons". Go to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and move the entire The Sims 4 folder to your desktop. By living in Britchester and trying to travel to another lot, such as the Library or the Foxbury Commons. What happens when the bug occurs? I get a message that says, "The game failed to load. Error Code: 123:e55b48b6:e52cbc4a. It is recommended that you relaunch the game." When I click OK and go to the world of Britchester, the lot I attempted to travel to has an orange triangle above it and says it's an unfinished lot. What do you expect to see? I was traveling around other worlds just fine, and it wasn't until I had my Sim living in the dorm house at Foxbury Institute that she was suddenly unable to travel in Britchester. I was able to travel to the gym in San Myshuno without a problem, but when I tried to travel back to Britchester to the library again, the game errored again. This time the code was 123:62ad84de:8974c82e. She can still travel to her home lot in Britchester, but apparently none of the other lots. [ARCHIVED] Reaper's Rewards: Plumbob icons for Quests no longer available
I started the Reaper event and got as far as where it indicates I should wait for the Ambrosia Newsletter. The newsletter either never arrived or disappeared, as it wasn't in my character's inventory after getting the mail, and I've had at least one more delivery since, and I didn't get the points for it. And instead of the quests coming up when clicking the Grim icon, it's a list of the event rewards and a brief description of the two quest chains. I play on PC and don't use any mods. I tried, after reading some suggestions: restarting, playing as another character in the same world and using their mailbox. Creating a new character and save. There is no option to 'reorder' the gazette or to expedite the delivery. Sometimes if your Sims don't attend a festival until the end or don't visit it at all, some items (chairs, tables, food stalls) will stay and merge with the normal furniture of the area and the following festival (e. g. flea market / spice festival). WORKAROUND: If your Sims attend a merged "double festival", make sure that they stay until the end of the current festival (e. g. flea market) when all items have vanished. That date/time will come and go and never get the option to go to the gig. What do you expect to see? Sim actually goes to the gig. Appointed date/time of the gig comes and goes, nothing happens. Cancelled the gig three times and it never happens. Tried with and without mods, tried changing acting companies. Problem occurs when the sim takes a gig and travels to another location. After traveling, the date/time of the gig will come and go and you'll never get the option to go. Problem might also occur if you save/load while you have a gig active. I am really unsure it happens randomly either when loading the game up or by loading in a new lot. What happens when the bug occurs? The entire town's lots become unplayable. A green or orange exclamation point shows up on the manage town screen. The sims cant go to those lots and if you are already loading into the lot it is completely gone. What do you expect to see? No When I either load into a game or load into a lot while playing the game, the lot will disappear and when I go to manage world view, or am loading in for the first time, every single lot has a green or orange exclamation point. They are completely unplayable and I loose everything. If its a home lot, all pets are also gone. Everything. I don't have cc or mods installed. I have tried everything. I save before visiting other lots because it happens so frequently and randomly I never know when it will break. Sometimes it takes multiple reloads back into the game to fix it. Only sometimes. Others its completely broken and never fixes. I have removed cache files. I have repaired the game. I have fully uninstalled and reinstalled this game. It doesn't matter it keeps coming back. Also these aren't gallery lots. These are Maxis lots installed from the very beginning. I complete everything until it comes to finishing the gig and receiving payment. There is notification that the work has been accepted but no payment, and the gig does not end. This is more frustrating when it is also taking an immense amount of time to get the work accepted. What do you expect to see? Previously, the work is accepted; there is the notification of work being accepted as well a second notification from the client expressing gratitude. Then my sims gets paid and the gig ends. This thread is only for issues with CERTAIN lots causing crashing/endless loading. This has nothing to do with save game corruption. This is related to debug/TOOL/Moo placed items and can usually be solved. Affected lots will cause this issue in ANY save, even a new one. Please only use this thread for those. Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It's reproducible for certain build and saves (shared separately). The exact cause is unclear but it seems to be connected to the furniture. Either it's too many or certain items that are causing issues, preventing the game from loading. What happens when the bug occurs? - When trying to load into such a lot in live mode will either crash the game or result in endless loading. - Trying to place such a lot from the map will crash the game - Trying to place such a lot in build mode will result in endless loading when trying to exit the lot - Trying to enter such a lot in build mode when already placed will either crash the game or you get lucky and it loads. What do you expect to see? The lot working like before. Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used. Patch 1.103.250 I put never on the mod question cause I can duplicate the issue on a vanilla game BUT some of these lots were build with TOOL or contained cc These are all lots build before the For Rent patch. There's a separate issue for Lots build on residential rental lot. EDIT: After further testing it seems connected to certain items placed on the lot (probably either with moo or tool.) EDIT: After 2 days of excessive testing on this issue, I found that it seems to be a certain or multiple objects of the same kind causing issues. All items have been placed on top of each other and with moveObjects, possibly tool and I personally think it has to do with the placement and not the object itself cause it was a different object each time. Funny enough, the objects were always outside the house. Suggestions for troubleshooting - Try to load the lot in build mode. If that fails, load the lot next to it in build mode and pan around a bit (I have no idea why that seems to work, but it helped me getting crashing lots to load), then go back to the other lot. - Once you loaded the house, change it to residential if it wasn't already and move someone in without furniture. Load the lot and check if that works. Take note on how the lot looks. Everything that's still there is not an issue if you were able to load the game that way. Save this under a new name. You might need to refer back to it. - Go back to the save with furniture and try the loading again. This time just delete the house. You can grab it to move around and then delete it. Check again if the problem is gone. If not, the issue is outside, if so, the problem is the house (it could theoretically be both but for now assume it's not. To be sure, you can delete everything BUT the house and see if the problem still occurs). - Once you know if it's the house or the outside, you can start searching. Outside: Delete one half of the lot, then test. Then test the other half. Then do half of the half until you find the object or object group. Depending on the amount of objects used, it could be easier to just delete a whole structure. Up to you. Inside: Delete floor by floor and then room by room to find the room that contains the faulty item. Then go from there. EDIT: Be aware that several issues can cause endless loading. [FIXED] Open staircase cause routing failures

Build two floors and add stairs. On the second floor create a room using fencing and delete floor above the stairs (like in the photo). Make your sim go upstairs. What happens when the bug occurs? Sims isn't able to go upstairs if there is a room without floor above the stairs. What do you expect to see? I expect stairs will be working like before and my sim will be able to go on second floor. All packs through/including Eco Lifestyle Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go to the community lots (Sprucewood Square in my case, and it's a community garden), wait. What happens when the bug occurs? The sink keeps being stolen. Only the sink, mind you, and occasionally the counter its on as I tried to get them not to steal the sink by inlaying it in a counter. It happens every single time I put the sink back into the lot, within 1hr of ingame time after fixing the lot. What's maddening is that because removing the sink 'breaks' the lot, if I go into build mode I cannot leave it until I replace it. What do you expect to see? Plumbing be a little bit harder to grift, or, if a sim watches someone steal from the community lot WITHOUT the NAP that allows stealing, a negative reaction from the crowd. Plant and grow sage and then harvest the bush once grown What happens when the bug occurs? after the plant is harvested, the bush disappears leaving what looks like just the harvestable behind. it still acts like the bush and can be watered and tended, but looks like a single harvestable What do you expect to see? The bush shouldn't disappear when harvested Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them. Time freezing & Resetting

UPDATE (by crinrict): Issue The game is freezing frequently. While the Sim is frozen, time goes on until it unfreezes and then resets itself to before the freezing occurred. It's most visible if you speed up your time Steps to reproduce the issue This issue is very hard to reproduce if you're not affected by it. If you are, you'll see it constantly. Even save games that have the issue, may not have it on a different computer. Info about the issue It's not caused by Mods or Downloads although it might have something to do with certain houses It occurs on many systems from lower specs to higher specs but High-End computer with really good specs are more often affected then lower or middle-class ones. Most of the time, it will be fine if you start a fresh game or move your Sims to a new save game. After a while you will get it back though The file size of your save game is not important It's probably not just one cause that is responsible for this. It could be similar to the broken Alarm issue in Sims 3. Things you can try Start a new game (completely shut down the game, then restart it and start a new save game) Move your Sims to a new game Empty out your Sims inventories (all households you have ever played) If you over-clocked your computer, check how it goes if you revert that. Once the freezing occurs, try saving your game (save as), go to your options and back or press M or to go to the world map and back Lower Graphics settings Go to the Audio settings and remove the check next to Enable Mood Sting Information Needed If you have this issue, it would be great if you could provide the following information: Basic Information about your computer (CPU, Operating System, Amount of RAM, Graphics Card, Hard Drive Space).
