Should I change my creator name?
Hello, everybody. I have a couple (sort of) of questions. And I thought this forum might be the best (if not, please let me know and I will move it). Should I change my creator name? What content would people want the most? I've had the name LolabelleSims for quite some time now, but I haven't really done much with it. I have a Tumblr and a TSR page, but that's about it. For a while, I was active on Sims 4 Studio as Fwecka, as well. My point is that I'm not well-known, but I am somewhat-known, if that makes sense. I'd like to really do more with my stuff. I'd like to have a name that people know, and...LolabelleSims. It's a silly name! Not exactly professional. (Plus, I think there are a couple of creators out there with similar names.) The name Lolabelle carries meaning for me — it was my daughter's nickname. She passed away 11 years ago. And she is why I'm hooked on Sims in the first place! But does the name work if I want to appear professional? I don't know. What do you think? As for content, I love, love, love gothy/vampire-ey things. The drama of it. But I also like cutsey-Kawaii things, too. But I also love romance (lace, rosebuds, etc.), too. But I also love high fantasy (as in Lord of the Rings, Skyrim, and Witcher) type of stuff, too. But I also love period items (the 1700s, the 1800s, the turn of the century), too. (I'm talking about European and American styles. I would happily provide content from other cultures if it's something people would like.) Do all of those genres? Some of them? None of them? CAS only? Build/buy only? Both? (I want to do both.) Bonus questions: What else do people like to see on a creator's Tumblr page (or whatever site a creator would use)? Tutorials? Do people enjoy gameplay shots? WIP shots? What about WCIF? Would that make it worthwhile to visit a creator's site? I would provide what you want and what you would appreciate. Bonus another question: Is it better to stick with one type of thing? e.g., just shoes, or just hats, or just lamps, as DOT did for Sims 3 at TSR. I would rather widen my range, to be honest, but it's not about me. I want to know what matters to you. Please share feedback!LolaBelleSims4 days agoRising Traveler13Views0likes0CommentsLooking to get back into the community - advice?
Hi everyone! I used to be active on the forums back in TS3 days. I've been playing plenty of TS4 over the years, no doubt about that! But I've been looking to do more and maybe get back into the community. I thought maybe I could start here to see what's up these days! And I do have a few questions I'll start with: Where we at these days? I was mostly on the EA TS3 forum. I know we're not super thrilled with EA these days. Are people still hanging here or elsewhere? Is Simblr still alive? I think I lost my Simblr account but was thinking of making a new one if the activity is there. I haven't even been on Tumblr in a decade+ so not sure if Tumblr is even active these days lol #eldermillenial I used to do Sim Stories back in there and thought I might try my hand at a machinima. I've seen a few people doing them but haven't researched it super thoroughly yet. Do people enjoy these? Where are the best places to put them? I'm guessing YouTube is the most obvious answer but wasn't sure if they were shared / cross posted to forums or anything. If anyone has advice with starting one, I'd love to hear! I am familiar with mods and poses as I did a lot with those in TS3 days, too, but any other general technical/recording/editing advice would be great! Lastly, is there a big market for Sims content on Patreon? I don't have a reliable steady income, so I'm always looking for ways to supplement a little, however I can. Most of the creators I see on Patreon are making mods and cc, so I'm guessing that's where the money is, but I can't make mods or cc. I figured I could probably do a Patreon or Ko-fi for a general support but definitely wouldn't rely on it. Just figured I'd throw it out there in case any one had advice in that area. I'm not a content creator / social media influencer and never had luck with that so it's unlikely I could go that route for a side hustle xD That's it for my main questions! I appreciate any advice you have! I look forward to being a part of the community again :)Skwittlez5 days agoRising Newcomer28Views0likes0CommentsThe Sims Medieval through Steam
I was repeatedly told by EA support to post this issue in the forums, so here I am. The Sims Medieval will either crash immediately or run as a background process through Steam no matter what I do. I've tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and Windows XP v 3, I've tried using Powershell to run it through CPU 0 and CPU 1 only (it will not apply to TSM.exe no matter what I try), I've tried running everything as an administrator, I've tried a clean boot with zero programs running- nothing works. I've been told that the "concern team" will reply to me here, so please advise. I bought the game only ten years ago and wasn't expecting it to be completely inoperable by now, especially with all the troubleshooting I've done. I tried activating my CD key in Steam (again), in the EA launcher, and in the Sims 3 website, but I haven't had any luck with activating a "fresh" version of the game, if anyone's wondering.PiderSensei18 days agoSeasoned Newcomer29Views0likes0CommentsSims Zombies
So I know there is a mod but I always thought that EA should make a Sims Zombies spinoff kinda like how they did Sims Medieval. This one would be years after an outbreak. Houses would need upgrades and repairs. You could board windows, repair vehicles, scavenge inside or outside of town, and skills would also include mechanical, marksmanship, gunsmithing, etc. I feel like there is so much potential for something like this.Mother_Phoenix19 days agoRising Newcomer11Views0likes0CommentsThe Sims Medieval remaster for Windows 10 please!
My computer is just dumb and refuses to run anything from that era due to some secure boot nonsense. Please kindly consider remastering the game for Windows 10 and 11. And MOST importantly, keep the amazing soundtrack! Don't touch anything else in game, just make it work on modern computers. Thank you!Win32KernelFile29 days agoNew Vanguard30Views4likes0Commentsthe sims medieval is unplayable
so far, with every quest i've encountered, there has been a bug that has made it impossible to progress. made the mistake of decorating my own castle, because that made the messenger post UNUSABLE. got the responsibility to send a guildmaster to the stocks, had them there but the game didn't register it thus FAILING it. tried to marry my build master, but kept getting cold feet because i dared to NOT use the church despite the game telling me it was an option. somehow fixed that just to have my husband UNABLE TO COME TO THE CASTLE to consummate the marriage. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE. the game has been out for over a decade and there's still bugs? are you not embarrassed?!? and to add insult to injury, the amount of time I WASTED trying to fix these problems, i've now played it past the hours allowing me to RETURN THIS ABHORRENT MESS to get my MONEY BACK. shame on you, EA. shame on you.swillify2 months agoRising Novice20Views1like0CommentsSims 3 Medieval Won't Launch
So first off, I have the physical disk of this game and it seemed like everything went fine while installing. It updated after the install, launches the launcher, click play, then nothing. Tried doing the intel 13 patch and a notepad code that seemed to help others, but no luck. I've spent a few hours trying to figure this out but I'm not very tech savvy so I would appreciate any advice! I used to really love this game and enjoyed it enough that I got an external CD drive just do I could play it again! Anyway, thanks in advance for any help!50Views0likes0CommentsSims medieval service initialization failed (0x0175d824)
I downloaded The Sims Medieval from the EA app but it won't open and keeps giving me "service initialization failed (0x0175d824)" error every time I try to launch. I've already tried: Changing resolution in options.ini Using alder lake patch Repairing through EA App Uninstalling and reinstalling Deleting TSM folder after uninstalling and then reinstalling again Using PowerShell to launch Changing in task manager to only use one CPU Running as administrator I have a 12th gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1235U, Windows 11, and I use an Intel graphics card on my laptop. I don't know much about computers so if any more info is needed please let know! I hope someone has a solution, it's so frustrating that I've spent money on it just for it not to work right out of the box. ☹️ Any help is appreciated, thank you! This feels practically hopeless.55Views0likes0CommentsCodes don't even work
so frustrating having spent a lot of money buying the sims collection for only a select few of the codes to work. They've re-released sims 2, i have most of the collection but none of the codes work! So i'd have to rebuy them just to play it on the app. Money grabbing at its finest, they aren't very helpful on the chats either which is disappointing.Sammy97974 months agoNewcomer28Views0likes0CommentsSims 3 on PLAYSTATION 5 and XBOX series X

Hello, fellow Simmers (and, hopefully, EA management)! So, I've noticed a recurring trend that the old 2003 PS2 game "The Sims: Bustin' Out" had been a source of many nostalgic memories for multiple players on the EA Forums. I haven't played it myself; in fact, I only went looking for gameplay footage of the game AFTER reading about it on the Sims series' official TV Tropes page. But from what I've read and seen of the game, I can see the charm it has, and even if it's a bit rough around the edges (and even THAT's to be expected for an old console spin-off of a series designed for PC), I want to say that it actually looks pretty good. I want to go play Bustin' Out and take the old twist of a Sims game with a story mode out for a spin myself, but the available torrent/emulator sites are a bit too sketchy for my tastes. So, I'm taking to the EA Forums to buzz this request into EA's ear yet again, for myself and everyone who grew up playing The Sims' wacky and edgy PS2 spin-offs. Could we please have a remake of The Sims: Bustin' Out? Preferably for the PC? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks, GeraltsFace.82Views3likes0CommentsApparel at the Sims Shop.com
Don't know if you are aware but merch can be purchased at The Sims Shop.com for the 25th anniversary of the Sims. I just got a deep purple sweatshirt with electric green embroidered icons and a deep blue tshirt with the 25th logo. They are both so pretty! I wasn't expecting the good quality or how comfy the items are. If you like sims merchandise or are into 25th anniversary pins, check them out! I swear I don't work for EA (LOL) or for a retailer. I was just so pleased with the two items I thought others should know!Jaletu5 months agoNew Ace146Views2likes0CommentsBring in the Sims legacy collection over to consoles re-release of the Sims 3
It seems annoying for people that don’t have PCs and prefer games consoles cannot play this release of the Sims one and two you can even have on the store requires keyboard and mouse support for console also for the Sims three which requires a very high specification requirement on older Pacific operating systems And I played it on my Windows 10 PC a few years ago it run perfectly with all the add-ons for one day when I played it again it kept crashing into the desktop. It didn’t tell me why it just didn’t wanna run afterwards so I thought it would be easier for you to release a patch for the game and bring it over to console the Sims three I think it would be a good opportunity to release the game for consoles and the legacy collection for it as well Sims three is one of my favourites but not being able to play it because of this problem is really annoying1sj048l568pg5 months agoNew Traveler90Views1like0CommentsI asked AI to describe "The Sims"
Ah yes, The Sims -- The only game where you can spend 6 hours designing a house down to the individual placement of a toilet brush, then forget to feed your virtual family and watch them die in a suspiciously flammable kitchen fire. At its core, The Sims is a life simulator. Not your life, mind you -- unless your life involves peeing yourself at a dinner party, getting stuck behind a chair, and having your boss shoe up to scold you for missing work, while you sob in a hot tub. This game is where you can create your dream self, give them a perfect home, an amazing job, a golden retriever, and then immediately remove the pool ladder just to see what happens. (Spoiler: They drown --They Always Drown.) Sims themselves are weird little digital people who speak fluent Simlish (a language made of baby babble and emotional trauma) and they have the intelligence of a Roomba in a haunted house. They'll cook gourmet meals but forget how to use a door. They'll flirt with the Grim Reaper moments after watching their spouse die of embarrassment. They cry when you delete the toilet, yet seem completely unfazed when a meteor lands on the neighbor's baby. You're not just a player--you're a god. A chaotic, petty god who gets bored halfway through building a family legacy and decides to trade someone in a windowless room full of dirty dishes. In conclusion, "The Sims" is like real life, if real life were written by a caffeinated toddler with access to a cheat code that gives you infinite money and zero ethics 10/10 highly recommend.mikkimouse19785 months agoSeasoned Veteran38Views1like0CommentsBreaking Open the Cave Challenge
Did anyone else get old school "Zork" vibes, when your character was climbing down the cave. Part of me expected to see a pop up reading "turn on the lantern" or else "you are likely to be eaten by a grue" to be displayed. To Those who have never played it Zork is the grandaddy of Text adventure games, though some would call it "google Maps for masochists... if Google maps was written in 1977 by English majors with too much time on their hands." Picture this: you're dropped into a world with no visuals, no tutorials, and most certainly no mercy. Your only tools? A blinking cursor and the blind optimism that typing "go north" won't immediately get you eaten by something. Spoiler alert: it will. The game opens with the iconic line: "you are standing in an open field west of a White House, with a boarded up front door." This sounds peaceful, doesn't it? WRONG!!!!! That house is a portal to Hades disguised as a fixer-upper. Inside are puzzles that defy logic, mazes that would confuse rats, and a thief who steals your stuff with the frequency of a raccoon on espresso. Let's not forget: THE GRUE--a nocturnal monster whose entire job is to eat you if you even think about walking into a dark room without a light source. It's like playing a game where every mistake is met with "Oh you don't know that? Too bad, you're dead now." In short: Zork is like reading a choose-your-own adventure novel where every choice leads to your inevitable doom, and yet somehow you can't stop playing. If you've ever wanted to yell at your computer for not understanding "USE SWORD ON TROLL", this would be the game for you.mikkimouse19785 months agoSeasoned Veteran41Views0likes0CommentsThe Sims
*The Absence of Direct Control in Sims: A Balanced Discussion* The Sims series has long been known for its engaging gameplay and addictive nature, but one aspect that has sparked debate among fans is the absence of direct control in certain gameplay mechanics. In this piece, we'll explore the pros and cons of this design choice and compare it to classic control mode. *The Case for Absence of Direct Control:* 1. *Increased Autonomy*: By giving Sims more autonomy, players can experience a more realistic and immersive simulation. Sims can make their own decisions, form relationships, and pursue careers without constant player intervention. 2. *Streamlined Gameplay*: Without direct control, gameplay becomes more streamlined, allowing players to focus on high-level decisions and strategy rather than micromanaging every aspect of their Sims' lives. 3. *Emergent Storytelling*: The absence of direct control can lead to emergent storytelling, where Sims' interactions and relationships create unique and unexpected narratives. *The Case Against Absence of Direct Control:* 1. *Loss of Agency*: Some players feel that without direct control, they lose agency and the ability to shape their Sims' experiences and outcomes. 2. *Frustration and Unpredictability*: Without direct control, Sims may make decisions that contradict the player's intentions, leading to frustration and unpredictability. 3. *Limited Customization*: The absence of direct control can limit the player's ability to customize their Sims' experiences and create specific storylines. *Comparison to Classic Control Mode:* Classic control mode, where players have direct control over their Sims, offers a more hands-on experience. Players can dictate every action, decision, and interaction, providing a high level of agency and customization. However, this can also lead to: 1. *Increased Complexity*: Direct control can add complexity to gameplay, making it more challenging to manage multiple Sims and their relationships. 2. *Less Emergence*: With direct control, the gameplay experience can become more predictable, reducing the potential for emergent storytelling. *The Best of Both Worlds:* Perhaps the ideal solution would be a hybrid approach, where players can choose between direct control and more autonomous gameplay. This would allow players to: 1. *Customize Their Experience*: Players could opt for direct control when they want to shape specific storylines or outcomes. 2. *Enjoy Emergent Storytelling*: Players could also choose to give Sims more autonomy, allowing for emergent storytelling and a more immersive experience. *Request to EA:* We, the Sims community, would love to see more flexibility in gameplay mechanics, allowing players to choose between direct control and more autonomous gameplay. This could be achieved through: 1. *Optional Gameplay Modes*: Introduce optional gameplay modes that cater to different player preferences, such as a "Direct Control" mode and an "Autonomous" mode. 2. *Settings and Preferences*: Provide players with settings and preferences that allow them to customize the level of control they have over their Sims. By offering more flexibility in gameplay mechanics, EA can cater to a wider range of players, enhancing the overall Sims experience and fostering a more engaged and creative community. *Join the Discussion:* Share your thoughts on the absence of direct control in Sims and the pros and cons of classic control mode. Do you prefer direct control, or do you enjoy the autonomy of Sims? Let's discuss!wazjpj87x4ay6 months agoNewcomer32Views0likes0CommentsProposal New Sims Game
Proposal for a New Sims Game — The Ultimate Community Dream Hello, EA and Maxis Team, I've been a passionate fan of The Sims since its inception, and I want to share with you a dream that many players, like myself, yearn for: a new Sims game that fuses the best of all the previous installments (Sims 1, 2, 3, and 4), while also introducing innovations that make the experience even richer, deeper, and more free-flowing. I want to imagine a game where: Seamless, open world: The player can move freely through a living world, without loading screens between neighborhoods, districts, or areas, so the experience is fluid and natural, like a true life simulation (just like The Sims 3). Unlimited building and customization: Being able to edit and create not just houses, but entire neighborhoods and landscapes with intuitive and powerful tools, allowing you to create everything from a modern city to a charming small town. Sims with Real Emotional Depth: I want Sims to have memories that affect their behaviors, emotions, and decisions over time, with complex relationships that evolve over time, including secrets, conflicts, and unforgettable moments. Creating Sims with Soul: A creation system that combines the depth of traits, aspirations, and characteristics from all series, with customizable options for appearance, personality, tastes, zodiac signs, compatibility system, and lifestyle, making each Sim unique (combining everything from The Sims 1, 2, 3, and 4 regarding this theme). Realistic Transportation and Mobility: Integrating functional modes of transportation, from cars and bikes to public transit or magic options, so that getting around is part of the experience (just like The Sims 2 or 3). Creature and Role Diversity: Include vampires, mermaids, ghosts, aliens, robots, fairies, wizards, and more, with their own stories and ways of interacting in the world, enriching diversity and narrative possibilities (as in The Sims 3 and 4). Artistic and Cultural Expression: Incorporate venues for live music, dancing, painting, writing, and other art forms into the game, encouraging creativity and social interaction, and even adding a new profession, such as singer or musician. Family and Multigenerational Dynamics: Simulate family life with generational changes, inheritances, unexpected events, and evolving personal stories, reflecting the complexity and beauty of real life. Also, allow others in The Sims to age, not just the family you control. Realistic and Emotional Interactions: Authentic animations and responses to interpersonal relationships, from simple gestures to profound displays of affection or conflict, to make Sims feel more alive and human (The Sims 2 and a bit of The Sims 3 and 4). Integration of a Karma or Destiny system: Where Sims' actions have lasting consequences on their lives and the world around them, encouraging meaningful choices. Narrative and Roleplay Tools: Easily enable players to create complex in-game stories, with options to guide events, dialogue, and Sims' destinies. Sound and Music Customization: Allow players to integrate or create their own music within the game and create custom radio stations, giving each world its own unique atmosphere. Music Bands and Solo: As in other Sims games, there's the option to create a rock band, or any band of any genre of music, or for an individual to be a musician of any genre they choose. Layered clothing and hair, and more aesthetic freedom: Clothes can be worn in sections (like in Sims 3), accessories can be combined freely, garments can be dyed in-game, and textures or patterns can be chosen. Also, hair can be layered and multiple colors. Deep personality and memory system (like in Sims 2): Sims have real memories, traumas, complex emotions, and their own opinions, all of which influence how they relate to each other and evolve over time. Full life cycle and more age stages: Infants, toddlers, pre-teens, teens, young adults, adults, seniors, and seniors, with unique activities, entertainment, and changes for each stage. Improved weather system and natural cycles: More realistic seasons, occasional natural disasters (storms, heavy snowfall, earthquakes), moon phases, eclipses, high and low tides in beach areas, etc. More human and realistic relationships: Unique hugs based on emotions, gentle caresses, deep reconciliations, painful breakups, jealousy, infidelity, love triangles, open or polyamorous relationships, etc. Better-Developed Education and More Realistic Family Life: Playable schools, colleges, and universities with realistic activities, interactions, teachers, personalized classes, homework, and a deeper social life for teens and young adults. Playable schools, preschool, high school, university, parent conferences, camps, adoptions, active grandparents, divorces, family secrets, legacies, and inheritances. Advanced AI and Narrative Autonomy: Autonomous Sims who act according to their personalities, relationships, and environment; NPCs who develop their own lives, find partners, work, and make mistakes. Richer object interactions: Each object has many realistic options, such as cleaning appliances, personalizing furniture, storing memories, playing instruments with emotions, or repairing things with real tools. Modern in-game technology: Deeper fictional social networks, influencers, in-game video games, streaming, online stores, dating apps, home automation, virtual assistants, etc. Memory System and Photo Album: Capture key moments in your Sim's life, save them in a journal or family album, relive them, and have them emotionally impact you in the future. Events, festivals, and multifunctional packages: Cultural/local celebrations, events (Christmas, fairs, carnivals), hotels, resorts, and mixed packages (shop + home, bars, sports centers). Various hobbies and industries: Skateboarding, yoga, organized sports (leagues), policing, firefighting, tattooing, worship, streaming, cooking, advanced gardening, science, creative roles and so on. This new game would be the perfect bridge between the nostalgia of the classics and the innovation of the future, a gift to the community that wants to experience their stories with freedom, depth, and love. Thank you for considering my vision. I'm excited to see how The Sims evolve and hope this idea provides inspiration for creating an unforgettable experience. With all my love, A passionate fan and dreamer who just wants everything from previous series combined into one game and more to come.Remintei6 months agoSeasoned Novice72Views0likes0Comments
