No characters where deleted by swtor , what occurred with the release of 4.0 was that the companion gear was made aesthetic

• Companion gear is now purely aesthetic. Players no longer need to worry about companions underperforming because of their outdated gear. While equipment will still change the visual appearance of companions just as it did before (it's important to look your best when you're adventuring across the galaxy!), companions will no longer gain combat stats from their gear. Due to this change, any gear slots which have no effect on a given companion's appearance will be removed from that companion. Any gear in those slots will be returned directly to the Character's inventory.

They were deleted tho. I attached screenshots of the messages I got from the SWTOR team and that my characters were deleted. I know it's been some time but I remember that I had a trooper because well it's very different from lightsabers. Also I remember buying a lot of unlocks and buying a ton of packs that I do not have in the characters I have access to. It's pretty hard for me to forget when I used cartel coins to get more cargo and inventory space because for the longest time I was f2p. When I eventually caved into buying stuff for the game and was spamming packs, I remember getting a ton of what I remember to be undesirables such as the cybernetic armor. Now I only have one cybernetic legs in my pack collector...  I could go on and on about what I remember I had that isn't there anymore but I think I hope I've made my point...

When you called CS they may have been right, your account may have been hacked , swtor certainly does not delete characters

Thanks for the info about the companion gear but I still believe my accounts were deleted because of the messages I received from the SWTOR team, character has been deleted, and my communication with the CS. Also if my companion gear was underperforming because of outdated gear and I was supposed to have it put into my inventory, it shouldn't come to a completely different character right? I can't log in currently because I'm not at home but I'm sure if I look at the gear I recieved I'll see some of them are from companions jedi guardians and inquisitors are not supposed to have. I currently have access to my 55 gaurdian, 48 (I think) maurader, 30 something sorcerer, my 43 assasin (that I leveled up in this last month), and a level 1 or 2 operative that I created a couple days ago.

I checked your account and characters yesterday and today, just to make sure there wasn't any temporary loading or syncing issues.

What I found was that there are no deleted characters on your account at all. I'm not exactly sure why the game would send you a deleted character mail, I've never even seen that before.

If you remember having more characters, they might be on another account.

If you remember character names of the missing characters and what server you played on, our Customer Service team should be able to look for them if you call in.

Do you remember when you first started playing? Did you play during the original launch period?

I don't actually remember the character names because I used the random generator for it and it's been quite some time. I played during the original launch period or pretty close to it but that's as much as I can give you since again... it's been some time. I looked on my email and I was banned on 3/14/14 ish for gold farming (I was in a rough patch so I played an insane and unhealthy amount, I think maybe close to 100 hours per week). This was when I was playing my marauder and I know my marauder was my 3rd character behind my gaurdian which I have and my inquisitor that I'm missing. I'm pretty sure I'm missing the inquisitor because I remember all the story plots that I've been seeing when I'm leveling up my assassin lately. I shouldn't be able to remember darth thanaton missions or what happens with zash with only a level 30 inquisitor which my account had when I first got on. I think I started early 2013?
