Re: Can no longer rotate camera with touchpad?

@meghanjosephine

Didn't you also have an issue with the Origin window not sizing properly?

Can you reset the NVRAM on your Mac and see if that helps? You can find instructions on Apple's site here - https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204063

If that doesn't fix it then reinstall your version of macOS from the App Store. Make sure you back up your Mac beforehand but it shouldn't cause any issues. Doing so would rule out any OS issues that may be causing your problems.

    My daughter restarted the NVRAM and it worked! We'd tried so many things. Thank you for this!

    Hi! We're having the same problem. First we repaired the game, and that worked. Then it happened again and repairing didn't work. It's not the Sims3 camera mode (she's definitely in Sims4 mode). Then we removed the Sims4 folder from EA in Documents, started the game again, and moved a bunch of settings from the old folder into the new folder, and that worked. Then it happened again. That time resetting the NVRAM worked, but then it happened again. We're not sure what to do from here. Any help you can offer is appreciated!

    Yes, we just did it again and it is working now. I expect it will stop working again...first world problems. :-)

    How interesting 🙂 You don't have any software installed which may be overriding or conflicting with the game and the touchpad controls?

    I don't think so. What is an example of software that might do that?

    Hi again! Those techniques worked before but I'm having trouble again, and I'm wondering if you have any other ideas?

    Sorry, didn't see your previous reply ☹️

    Software which can alter the Trackpad controls may cause the issue. For example, if you use some kind of software that uses the trackpad gestures differently to those intended by the OS.

    Do you have an external trackpad/mouse you could try?

    We don't, although we'll look into that! Right now it's working again. But when it inevitably stops...we'll investigate software that might be interfering. Thank you!!
