Re: Newly downloaded Sims 4 won't connect to gallery

@MathiasKejseren

You won't be running legacy Edition 🙂 Try the Origin reset tool - https://help.ea.com/en-gb/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/

Repairing the game may help too, right click on it in your Origin games library and select repair game.

Keep this link somewhere. It's a great thread for the current status of the gallery - https://answers.ea.com/t5/General-Discussion-Feedback/READ-FIRST-Gallery-Connection-Troubleshooting-Status-of-the/td-p/9514109

  • I tried those. No luck, I've DM crinrict to see if they might have an answer.

  • No, I'm not sure what you mean. The only thing I pulled over was my saves and the cashe and tray folders were empty. I'm a bit scared I might break my game if i fiddle to much without knowing what im doing.

    Go into Documents > Electronic Arts and move your Sims 4 folder to the desktop then relaunch the game. It will be like new as your saves will be in the folder you moved to the desktop. Start a new game and see if you can connect to the gallery.

    Ok. It's odd that this is happening to you and would possibly indicate something on your Mac blocking it. I don't think it's a widespread issue at the moment ☹️

    Hopefully you'll get access again soon.
  • Just tried whipping and reinstalling origin to see if that fixes it. - No

    Thought maybe it was this problem with big sur (https://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin-Client-Web-Technical/why-doesn-t-origin-support-mac-update-big-sur/td-p/9769834) but I reinstalled origin with the link in the thread and it still didn't fix it.

    Also tried making my phone a hotspot to rule out connectivity problems and still wasn't working.

    Also went into my privacy settings to make sure origin and reset origin had access to all file and now they do but still didn't fix it.

    If its some sort of protection setting its one that isn't immediately obvious. come to think of it I had a similar problem trying to run the geforce now application ages ago but I don't experience this when I use steam or parallels-windows 10. What kind of stuff might those two have in common that could cause this reaction with my mac? or am I thinking too hard?
