yes I did, still no sims 4 folder in my documents
Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:
find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null
After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.
/Users/NAME/Applications/The Sims 4 Packs
/Users/NAME/Applications/The Sims 4.app
/Users/Name/Applications/The Sims 4.app/Contents/Resources/The Sims 4.app
NAME@NAME-MacBook-Air ~ %
this is what it said when I copy paste that what you said.

Thanks. Can you open the game, play for a bit then save and quit then do that Terminal search again. played for a bit and I think it's the same thing as before
/Users/NAME/Applications/The Sims 4 Packs

Yep looks the same. Did you save it?
Launch the game and click on load game then hover over one of the households to see the file path:
this is what I see
- @fruitellaaaa
Ok, they’re saving at least. Have you looked in the iCloud Drive > Documents folder? Not User > Documents. You should see iCloud Drive under iCloud in the Finder sidebar. - @Bluebellflora Just did that, this is what it said
/Users/NAME/Documents/Electronic Arts/De Sims 4
NAME@NAME-MacBook-Air ~ % - @Bluebellflora yep! the folder isn't in there
- @fruitellaaaa
Ok. Terminal is showing the correct location and the folder exists. Can you post a screenshot of the contents of your Documents folder? - @Bluebellflora well I've found the sims 4 folder somewhere, but the problem is now that my mods don't work. my mods are placed in the right folder but they don't work in the game itself.
- @fruitellaaaa
"Somewhere"? The game only looks in one place (Documents > Electronic Arts) for it and if it doesn't find it will recreate one.
The Mods folder must be directly in the Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder, no sub-folder or renamed folder.
They need to be unzipped/compressed and have the extension .package or .ts4script.
CC/Mods should be enabled in the in-game settings.
They must also be 100% compatible with the current patch level of the game. - @Bluebellflora have done all of that, still doesn't work
- @fruitellaaaa
Good luck then. If the Mods are correctly stored in the Mods folder the game will load them.
If you manage to fix it please post back here with what worked so it helps others experiencing the same issue 🙂
