Re: president's day sale??
@coltcolt81, I'm so happy you found a sale and got some packs! 🥳
@CMeki, Thanks for the congratulations! 😇 I had noticed that you were also made Champion, but I didn't know that it was different from the other levels of participation (like newbie, guide, novice, etc.) so I just thought you must have posted a lot and gotten a bunch of ExP while I was busy getting ready for Christmas and then sick for a good part of January! 😃
Yes, we are extremely glad to be well now! 😇
I love to watch food shows too! I love to cook, but hate to clean up, so I cook less than I want to. 😳 Out of the City Living foods, while I've eaten some of the Japanese, Indian, Vietnamese, and Moroccan foods in the City Living, I haven't eaten all of them, but I've eaten several things not in the game. I've never had any of the Philippino foods in the game (I don't think I've had any at all!). Most of the City Living foods I've eaten are the Chinese and Mexican. I there are a lot of Vietnamese and Indian food places where I live, but since my husband won't eat these foods, I rarely get them. My dad and brothers won't eat them either, so my Mom and I used to go to Indian or Vietnamese places for lunch when I lived closer to her, but we haven't been in a while. And since I grew up in Texas, and my mother-in-law is of Mexican decent, I'm very familiar with northern Mexican food /Tex-Mex ! Her charro beans are to die for! ❤️ It is more like a bean soup. She uses bacon in it, but you could always use something like smoked paprika since you don't eat meat! ❤️
And thank you for the article on Swedish Taco Fridays! I really enjoyed it! Tacos are so versatile, that you can use them as a canvas for anything! ❤️ In the U.S. we usually prefer our tacos on Tuesday and yes, it is actually called "Taco Tuesday"! 😃 (They mention it in the Lego Movie!) But in states that border Mexico, tacos are for everyday! 🥳
Your article stated that corn, cucumbers, and pineapple were considered odd. I've never had a taco with cucumber (zucchini and squash yes; cucumber no!) but there could be some regions of Mexico that use cucumber on tacos that I'm not aware of. Pineapple on tacos is very popular on the coast -- less so in the interior I think. It goes really well with seafood, but I've never seen it on a ground beef taco before. Corn is a staple of Mexican cooking (as well as with other cultures indigenous to the Americas), so this isn't strange at all. 🙂
So you said you rob your boyfriend of meat -- i'm guessing he is meatless for your sake! That's sweet! 😇
Yes, you should be able to make Hot & Sour Soup the Vegan way. While there is usually a bit of pork, that is mostly for flavor and isn't really needed. Most recipes I've seen do have eggs or egg whites whipped into the broth, (like egg drop soup) but you can omit that. One restaurant I used to go to used cabbage instead! The most difficult thing to reproduce while staying Vegan would be the broth, because it is actually a pork stock (it will gel when refrigerated). But some kind of vegetable or mushroom stock might work, since mushrooms and bamboo shoots are the bulk of the soup! 😉
I saw part of the livestream on the Jungle Adventure GP and the only thing I remember seeing were several types of arepas, which are from South America (most notably Venezuela, I think)! As soon as I saw the food stand I said to myself, "I just know they are going to have arepas!" So, when the food stand had arepas, I was so proud of my self, I failed to see what else they had! 😳:eahigh_file: Well, we will know in just a few days what other foods will be added with this GP to The Sims 4! 🥳 I can't wait! Looks like a really fun pack! ❤️
