Re: I can't give my hamster its anti-aging treat

@slayer4evah check that it's definitely a Rodent anti ageing treat that you have because there are different ones, then I think you click on the Hamster itself rather than the treat if I remember correctly.

I get really attached to the little guys as well. Are you tracking the notifications of their adventures too? Hilarious! 🐹

I'd quickly make a backup save incase he dies while this is being figured out and incase there's an issue somewhere. That way there's no harm done.

Edit: found an image for you (see attached).

Hello @simsplayer818 , thank you very much for your response! Yes, the treat is correct, I went to the vet to buy a couple of them, but since the option to give it to the hamster did not appear, I also bought some through my computer. But when I click on the hamster habitat that option just doesn't appear, I have no idea what the problem could be.

As I mentioned, I don't have additional mods or anything that could interfere, maybe I should open a ticket because I'm starting to think it's a bug. It's a good idea to save the game now before there is a fatal outcome, my poor daughter feels terrible and the truth is that I do a little as well. Yes, over time you get attached to the game and its characters, and the stories are hilarious, today there was a nuclear reaction lol. Thank you very much again!

@slayer4evahI'll test it in my own game today and report back. There are a few open issues with rodents in Bug Reports but I haven't found one that matches this potential issue so far.
The ageing settings in the Game Options don't cover Rodents.
Can I ask what platform you are on? Is it PC/Mac or PlayStation/Xbox?

I'm exactly the same about losing pets. I got Cat's and Dogs after pet bereavements and my Avatar here is my tribute to my late dog. The first thing I noticed in C&D was the strays and it was like another trigger for me.

It's just a suggestion but you could also quietly delete that hamster and place another one for now when nobody is looking (don't tell your poor child I said that though lol).

Edit: I tested this in my game (on Xbox Series X with all packs) and once I'd ordered the treat on the computer I just needed to click the Rodent Habitat and mine looks like the image in my first post. The Sim with the  treat in her inventory got the option to feed it to little Valentino the Hamster (See image). So if this doesn't work for you, let us know your platform and I know you said no mods but if you're on PC or Mac let us know if you're using any CC. Could you also attach an image of the options on your Rodent Habitat too so we can see if anything else is missing? I've seen reports of other missing interactions, like feeding or cleaning. Also make sure it wasn't placed with any cheats like move objects just to be sure.

You could also reinstall the My First Pet pack and see if that makes a difference.

My Sim loves her new Hamster!

Hello @simsplayer818, and again thank you very much for your response. You know, I haven't started a fresh game in a thousand years, it was always update after update, and maybe something broke in the process. I wanted to open a ticket but no option appears to do so (I'm super bad for technology, so maybe it's just me haha), the system sends me to read the FAQs or ask here, I think I wrote to them on Twitter the day before yesterday, but there was no response either.

So I wanted to try and started a new game to see what would happen, I put a hamster in the house, bought a treat and the option to feed it appeared on the first try. So I infer that maybe there is something wrong with my game. Much to my regret, I suggested to my daughter that we start a new game and recreate those characters. I'm doing some research because I want to see if it's possible to export the characters (not the house), with their physical and personality traits. And then import them into the new game. She agreed, so we'll have a busy weekend hahaha! But at least I know that starting from scratch will correct that problem. Anyway, maybe it's a good moment for a fresh start. I don't have any CC either, and I'm running Windows 11 Pro on my pc, it's fully updated.

Honestly, I've never seen stray dogs in my game. Either I'm very clueless or I don't know hahaha! Oh my Gosh, that's so sad! But I feel you, I wouldn't tolerate seeing them. All my life I said that I would like to be a multimillionaire just to open a gigantic shelter with street animals from all over, with veterinary care, good food, shelter, games, and above all a lot of love. Well, by dreaming I don't lose anything.

I'm at work now, but I will send a screenshot when I get home. Thank you very much again!!

@slayer4evahyou certainly can export your Sims into a new game by saving them to your Library. I'm attaching a guide for the Gallery (public) and the Library (private). You can just pop into Create a Sim and save them from there.
I recommend sherigr.com for great help and tips, Carl's Sims Guides are great too.

If feeding the treat to the hamster worked before then I wonder if there was some kind of a glitch this time perhaps. But if it still doesn't work in your new game then let us know, I can loop in a PC player. We'll usually check it out to see if it's potentially a bug and can help it get reported if so.

The strays are around the streets in Brindleton Bay. The beach is pretty depressing! But I build animal shelters to reassure myself they have somewhere to go... while reminding myself they are pixels. But strays are always sad even animated ones!
