Time to kill is very high currently so peoples get up close and play "peek a poo" with r99 to be as little possible on open, because single person is most of the times unable to kill you during these short peaks with any other guns or win trades. and if enemy realises they are getting hit alot more during these peaks that they are doing, they will start pushing relentlessly and get one pumped by mastiff by the time they get to you.
What is purpose of having r-301 if you never see enemy long enough when they run from rock to rock towards you with r99 until they're in optimal distance, possibly healing between these transitions for a bit. by the time they get to close distance it's usually either forced shotgun battle or lost fight if you dont have close combat gun.
having medium distance weapon is especially punishing with random teammates who are more often then not unable to deal any additional damage on top of what you did to somebody so only option is to pick weapon that gives you highest chance to stop enemies who push as three man premade and you're technically forced to run in houses trying to 1vs3 them by making them get lost to your movement. it's impossible to stop three man push ALONE in time with guns like r-301 because they are designed not to be as lethal because of additional range they give that is NOT ENOUGH
I know it's alot of text but to simplify, medium range guns are viable in premade teams, but not with solo players. reason why three man stacks take r99 is because they just like having fun doing ape stuff where as opposite solo players are forced to take it to try fight back these premade teams.
odds of really good solo player killing good premade team are almost unexistant and these teams know it so there is two options
- make medium range weapons more competitive in close combat
- separate three man teams from players who queue alone into ranked games to give them even playing ground
I think latter of these is not implemented because "there is not enough playerbase to separate those two in ranked if we look at statistics" and that is wrong way of thinking because implementing this could potentially increase playerbase negating this. casual ranked players dont wanna play ranked because of three man teams always * them so they leave to other games and now there is literally NO solo players left in ranked queue. i run into same peoples day after day in ranked when playing solo wich implements there is not many of us left if they always end up in my team
