Why the R99 made sense in its TTK in S1 and the game felt fluid + Season 5
When season 1 started the game was a blast, it was a new BR, amazing visuals, amazing scenery, we were introduced to a new pinging system, the guns felt amazing, the characters powers were amazing, ultimates were spot on, every single fight felt crazy fun, and the R99.. well this gun some people liked it and some people hated it, even though the gun's ttk was soo quick, you HAD TO hit every single shot to down someone, there was a little bit of lee-way because the clip was bigger than it is now, so it was acceptable to miss a few shots. However, now we're in season 4, almost 5, guns like the peacekeeper DO indeed need to be nerfed, I understand it is a shotgun, but 2 shots and you're dead? I mean come on. It takes 0 skill to use, it can reload and down faster than half the guns in the game, if anything this gun's reload speed needs to be drastically reduced, or at the very least reduced so the max it can hit is for 80, no more no less. Now onto the havoc, yes this gun is getting nerfed (FINALLY), but for future reference I don't think any gun should kill you without a lot of bullets having to hit you, this gun literally shreds you in less than 3 hits. I don't understand how it made it through the testing phase. At least with the R99 you had to hit most of your targets in that short space of time, if you didn't you was literally dead. So that made sense because it was a high risk/high reward, but hackers (i'm talking to you mr aimbot/turbo controller players) ruined the gun and its place in the game, the gun feels amazing in its current spot at the moment, but it didn't at the start, because a lot of the other guns were off balance.
I can however, say that I am VERY EXCITED for season 5, a new SMG entering the game, a new pistol, the new quests/challenges, more skins, hopefully a better season pass. I also hope that this new "Hunts" thing added to the game is like a PVE mode, and it is separate from the base game, if it feels anything like call of duty ghosts "extinction" mode, then the developers at respawn would have instantly increased its revenue by a good few million without question. I can say that I was sad that the extinction mode was removed from the call of duty franchise because I know a lot of other players did enjoy playing them, even though there were just a few of them to play, they had bosses and different enemy types, I am also guessing that the devs have seen/played extinction (since it released years ago). I saw in the trailer that there ARE turrets, and I am happy that it works along with the base BR mode that we currently have, I hope respawn continue to add it to the base game after season 5 is done and make the content replayable with another way to play the game/rank up/get unique content, I also hope that the XP per kill is only worth 1/4th - 1/10thof the XP gained from killing a player in BR mode, else this would stop players playing BR as much, as they would just farm the other mode, but non-the-less I am very happy to see some fresh new content added to the game.
