My two cents on the balance issue,
- Bloodhound
Passive: Useful, if you pay attention to it, it´ll raise your chance of turning an ambush against your team in an ambush for your team.
Skill: Balanced, you can detect people but can also be detected because of the golden globe around you. Safety button to avoid an ambush.
Ultimate: Good, you can run faster, be for cover of chase and you can see through smoke, this game has a lot of smoke, the tracking I don´t find that good.
- Pathfinder
Passive: Kind of useless, the circle shrinks very slowly, does almost no damage, the map is small (compared to others BR), so you can always get to the next safety zone easily, the fact that you need to find a beacon to detect the other safe zone make it even worse. The only time you should die to the ring is when you´re afk, for a while.
Skill: Good, to flee or to make an ambush, just need a little time to get used to it.
Ultimate: Useful, be it to flank or flee, if you plan and use a mic, is a very good tool.
-Lifeline
Passive: Very good! For the team and for her, faster healing rocks, specially combined with the golden backpack.
Skill: Very good!
Ultimate: Awesome early to midgame, getting great armor and hopups makes a LOT of difference, and you can make a lot of use of the ultimate accelerator that almost no one wants to use. Falls short at endgame because everyone will have farmed already, but this will for sure carry you to the endgame if you play smart and don´t have a lot of badluck.
- Bangalore
Passive: The boost is most welcome, be it to find cover or close that distance.
Skill: Very good, useful in so many situations that´s hard to choose a best one.
Ultimate: Carpet bombing? As good as it sounds.
- Wraith
Passive: Meh, even with subtitles, most of times the warning are useless because whatever is going to happen, happens a micro second later, and when it happens in the middle of the fray, it get lost in the chat easily as well. The concept is cool.
Skill: Useful.
Ultimate: Same thing as the Pathfinder ultimate, it´s good if you plan ahead with your team, harder to pull off because you need to reach the destination and if you are spotted, there it goes the element of surprise. The pro against Pathfinder ultimate is that you´re safe while traveling the portal once you enter it, unlike the zipline.
- Gibraltar
Passive: Useful, the shield doesn´t hold long BUT it saved me a lot of times that I survived with a small HP, meaning that damaged absorbed would kill me. I just hate it because when the shield is up, it blocks a portion of your view and the glowing orange shield is a spotlight if you´re trying to flank, use sniper or something like that.
Skill: Useful, but you need to learn to shield dance... Pop in and out of the shield when the time is right.
Ultimate: Carpet bombing? Yup, it´s always welcome.
Mirage and Caustic, I didn´t play with them yet, but Mirage looks good and Caustic lacking if you don´t play him as a trapper (that you should be playing).
My personal tier list:
S tier characters that are too good: LIFELINE and BANGALORE and can work out in any situation without needing group play.
A tier: Bloodhound and Gibraltar if you play solo, no communication with your team. Wraith and Pathfinder if you have good communication with your team.
B tier: Bloodhound and Gibraltar if you play in a group if with communication, Wraith and Pathfinder if you´re playing solo.
