Friends appearing offline, some friends not even showing up.

My cross platform friend (Xbox for him, EA for me) showed up offline for me, and I showed up offline for him. We attempted to unadd each other to try to fix the issue but we couldn't. We both made sure we were appearing online and restarted our games. Now all of my cross platform friends don't even show up on my friends list. I see many topics about this already but I'll add to list of complaints to reinforce the fact that this is a problem. 

"Were bringing back arenas! Only for a limited time! But you can't play with the homies you used to play with back in the day because our game is littered with glitches and bugs. You can go back to completely forgetting our game exists!" -probably someone working on Apex. 

 I reinstalled the game for a limited time mode that used to be an actual part of the game just to sit in the lobby unable to invite my friend.
