warmup in mixtape then murder everyone in pubs / new game mode.
but then again playing for your kda will only make your gaming experience more miserable.

K/D is like almost any other stat in the game. It can be manipulated if you're willing to give up whatever it is you have to give up in order to get it. Best example I can think of is, drop hot, alone or not doesn't matter, grab the first gun you come to, and just start shooting. The easiest kills you will ever get in this game are drop kills. Of course, you won't survive past that POI, but if you can take down one other person before you die then you've broken even. If you can take down a second in every third or fourth match then you start creeping up. You'll never win a game that way and there goes your win rate, and your teammates will despise you, but it's still pretty easy to do. - AymCTL12 months agoSeasoned Ace@espadakillar69 Lots of practice. When I first started I gave up some Saturdays to put in 6 hours in the firing range.
Also, play in pre-made squads where possible. I had 2 livestreamers and a friend I played with once I learned the game and we all started learning each other's playstyles and to communicate with each other. That's something I miss now since all of these people left the game, but I digress.
I got every YouTube video I could find of firing range drills that help improve tracking and aim. I also put the dummies on full combat and practice taking a building before quitting in the firing range.
Also, fps eye training and esports health warmup videos helped me improve a lot as well. Eye training videos will give you a red ball to follow with your eyes. Esports health warmups have hand stretches you can do developed by doctors hired by top esports teams to coach them on keeping their hands and arms in shape and warmed up. A search on youtube will find a lot of these for you.
If you're a pc player there are several fps aim programs that have drills you can do.
When in the actual game I always go from firing range to bot royale to mixtape to pubs to ranked (when I was playing ranked). Going in this order tends to build you up from the easier stuff to the harder stuff.
Also, try not to get to angry about the cheaters. I have a good feeling their days in this game are numbered, so just keep your skills improving the best you can knowing things will be getting better. Good luck 🙂 - ComicBookGuy272712 months agoSeasoned Ace
I feel if you are not a pro, you can't get better anymore in Apex Legends. I felt between seasons 1 and maybe 15 you could, now... no way. If you are a casual player that has a real job and plays a couple hrs a day for fun - there is now way to improve. Some aspects maybe like rotation, when to engage and disengage, those kinds of things. But I don't believe a casuals KD can improve anymore. At least not in this particular game.
Feels like the pros and streamers made sure of that. They love their free kills.
Back in the day, I would have said practice, practice, practice and you'll get better. But that time has come and gone.
Either except the fact that you are now only fodder for the top percent and be exactly that, watch your KD plummet as well as your self worth or - move on.
I don't see any other options at this point. Sorry.

Okay, having now read what others have had to say, I feel like there's another discussion we can have here.
K/D is an interesting statistic, but Apex is not a game where most kills wins. People forget that this is a last man standing game type, and if you're playing it for kills then you're doing it wrong. If you spend any part of your match, except maybe the last 60 seconds, actively seeking out engagements then you're still doing it wrong. If you believe that the most fun to be had in this game is a gunfight then you're playing for the wrong reasons and with the wrong objective in mind. The only stat you want to chase in this game is the win. That will make you crazy enough, but chasing k/d or a 20 bomb (without cheating) is a fool's errand. And wanting those things is what comes of watching streamers and ALGS. It's like me going to a BSO performance and then wanting to buy a violin and expecting to play like Heifetz. Day one or after years of lessons, it's still utterly unrealistic.
Shift your perspective. Figure out what it is that really matters to you in this game, and if it's still k/d then stop playing BR and start playing TDM. - EspadakillarTTV12 months agoSeasoned Veteran
KD matters unfortunately. A 1.0 KD brings you better quality players. I was playing on my Smurf and i got good cooperative teammates. My main account is 0.7 KD, lower than usual and getting bad or worst teammates. This is the case.

Just to add on, TDM does not change my BR KD stats. I will still get stuck with teammates who do hot drops and ruin my whole experience of battle royal.

@espadakillar69It took a very long time for mine to increase. I was .2 or less for the first few seasons, I was awful (I am a season 0 original player). 3 or 4 seasons ago I finally hit above 1.0. I've been about .9 - 1.1 each season since. It took a *VERY* long time for me to see that improvement (I think it was just my shooting and decision making improved - I would rank decision making over shooting to be honest as bad decision making will get you destroyed regardless of your shooting ability). But I'm also an older gamer (50+) so my vision/reaction time isn't the best. Kids born with controllers in their hands will pick it up *far* faster than me. I won't be in ALGS anytime soon lol...

@espadakillar69I've also found it can fluctuate dramatically in a season. Most of the season has been fine then I'll hit a patch where I am suddenly garbage overnight for a few weeks (I put this down to match making as the fights suddenly seem *way* harder and 1 sided - you can usually confirm this looking at the banner of the guy who got you) then it goes back to "normal".

In my case, I have better KD without playing E-District at all. This is a terrible map created only for characters with movements such as Horizon, Revenant, Pathinder etc.
The lack of items and lack of healing make this map very frustrating to play.
Even though there are going to be changes to this map, I already know that I will never play on it. The worst map that appeared in Apex.
