Origin and Steam link progress interchangeable?

Bare with me on this.

If I were to link my origin to my steam account I should be able to have my progress and customizations for legends when I play on steam. While I play on steam I would continue progressing whatever Apex has to offer.

Now, if I were to go play apex on Origin, would my progress be where I left off when last time I played on Steam for Apex? I just have friends on Origin to and same time different people on steam. Don't want to get ahead of this and regret going through this.
