I just made the switch from console to PC. So this is my first time playing on PC in about 20 years.I've been playing a few ranked games today and every game is just filled with smurfs. I haven't died to a single person without a 3/4k badge or a 20kill badge. Has it always been this bad on pc? I thought the learning curve would've been easier. This is just not fun. I have relatively good game sense in Apex since I've been playing a lot on console but my mechanics are on a bronze level on pc.Nothing really I can do against a tap-strafing supergliding bunnyhopping smurf player on bronze lobbies. I guess there is nothing else to do than report them for smurfing but that's not going to do anything, right?

@chuckmynorris It’s just as worse on consoles. Yeah I doubt that Respawn gives any suspensions/bans to these accounts. I still think that they need to increase the level requirement for you to join rank from level 10 to level 50.

True, increasing the level requirement to 50 would probably solve this completely. Even though level 50 takes a bit of time at least at that point a player has gained some experience on the game already.I guess it could be the same on console. Haven't played console lobbies that low in such a long time so I don't really know what is going on in there.

Sure, game sense/knowledge wise yes. Not my preference to start from lvl 1, would've loved to continue where I left off on PS4 but since we don't have cross progression, I have to start from lvl1.But it's a huge difference between being a first time mnk player and someone who's played on pc for a long time and makes a new account. Can't really compare the two.

Not sure I want to take that much abuse just to get to silver.I'll just go back to the "decent game 1 in 5, good game 1 in 20" experience of pubs.It seriously shook my confidence and pissed me off. I know it is just a video game, but I can't just turn off my competitiveness that easily.

@chuckmynorrisi started playing Apex in Season 8 and tried Ranked for the first time last night. I am an admittedly bad player but it was like I'd never played an FPS before in my life. I was constantly focused and jumped on by squads that rarely missed shots with God like movement. Didn't matter if I was with 2 randoms or a pre-made duo, we all died almost instantly the first time we ran into anyone. Could be smurfs or that I just suck at Apex, but it was Bronze lobbies supposedly. I'm back to where I was in mid-Season 8, questioning my life choices and about to stop playing for a few months.

@HappyHourSumwur Bronze lobbies are not bronze lobbies. I wouldn't feel bad. Just push through those and you will get regular people.

@hayhor So is it all smurfs then? I just have to suck it up and take my beatings to get to matches that feel more appropriate for my skill level (i.e.-I am below average)?

When does it get better? If I have to get to gold, I'll just stick to the occasional pub match and go find another game to play. I don't want put up with that much BS. Getting your @$$ handed to you repeatedly is a horrible experience.

@HappyHourSumwur Bronze lobbies are harder than silver lobbies since there are smurfs accounts. There’s less in the silver and gold. When you play in bronze 60-70% of it are real bronze players but the rest are high ranked players that got demoted and some are smurf accounts.

If you’re having a difficult time going through bronze, I suggest sticking with pubs since smurfs are immediately placed into sweaty lobbies after a few games and you won’t get preds (most of the time lol).

@HappyHourSumwur Not all smurfs. Some higher level players don't play ranked much so their account derank all the way back. It is one of the biggest flaws in the ranked system that I've complained about often in here. Once you get to silver it will likely get better.

@chuckmynorris Its pretty much in every game the same on PC when it comes to ranked matches. Some are just good at playing any game and you get the feeling they are smurfing but then there is apex stupid ranked system which lets you play play in gold rank even tho you were 1 season ago Pred.
