@DarthValtrex I think the real problem that was faced was, "How do we make 3 distinct shotguns all handle entirely differently, and yet all excel at CQC WITHOUT overwhelming the other options." When you think about it thematically, Respawn was too focused on making the shotguns feel different as opposed to making them functional, and I think they went the wrong way in terms of balancing and when you think about how the game is played.
I think they should've kept the Mastiff as a CP weapon, and the PK as floor loot. The PK should drop its headshot multiplier to 1.2x, removal of reduced damage to legs, and a nerf to per-pellet damage (dropped to 8). This keeps the Mastiff as an extreme close range heavy hitter, and makes the PK require more user skill in order to 2 shot enemies. The EVA should get the most drastic rework, featuring minor spread reduction, genuine full automatic that comes installed on the gun, a massive drop in per-pellet damage from 7 damage to 5, and retaining the same 1.5x headshot multiplier and magazine size. An all or nothing weapon with great potential to really knock someone to the floor, or for you to miss entirely and do nothing.
