Alternator:
With its buff this gun is now a solid pick, even without the hopup. Its hipfire potential is massive and with that comes added mobility that you don't get from a lot of guns. With the hopup it is brutal and I still think it needs a slight adjustment. The Hammerpoints for P2020/Moz are much better balanced because without the hopup the guns are weak. They go from weak to situational - whereas the alternator is just a good gun regardless, then the hopup makes it slightly OP.
I would suggest that the hopup should be a choice rather than a flat increase in weapon value - so it should do LESS damage to health as it does MORE damage to armor. The choice then becomes keep your stock alternator for the gun it is already, or turn it into a slightly different weapon which synergises insanely with the Hammerpoints or gives you a more specific purpose to your team. Early damage to hose off shields and then you've got to switch weapons or be part of a team who focus fire effectively.
Currently once you've got a purple mag in an alternator with hopup, you don't really need any other weapon. You can even put a 2-4x on it and drain a teams resources by hosing their shields off from miles away. If a team want to sit at distance and poke you - they're going to lose all their spare batteries and cells.
G7 Scout:
I've always loved this gun. I don't think anything should be changed with it now that the rifles have had the buff a few patches ago. It's hipfire is actually significantly better than people give it credit for, it just takes a lot of practice to have the effective range nailed down in your mind.
I used the G7 as my main weapon for a long time. If I had to guess I'd say for about 150 hours G7/Longbow was my most ideal combo, with a 2x/3x/2-4x on the G7 and a 4-8x (or 6x if I was desperate) on the longbow. In that combo - it was the longbow that was the expendable weapon. The G7 shreds at close-mid range. For those ranges I think it's the most versatile gun in the game if you can track, and in a pinch it mutilates people at longrange, you just have to quickly identify if your enemy is a good enough shot that you're going to have to peek a lot.
You can chase someone using it knowing that there is no limit to your effective range if they're trying to escape, you don't need to change weapons. You can hipfire it in close range fights in places like skulltown buildings and know that you're going to be like a wrecking ball once you get used to the hipfire range.
The worst thing about the G7 is its ironsights, but then I assume this is deliberate to stop it being OP when naked compared to other guns.
