So tonight I witness both of myself and teammates just getting downed instantly.
Enemy absorbed 6.5 bursts of Prowler with white shields.
Downs each teammate immediately. (typical auto gun)
This stuff is so bizarre. There's a clear disparity at play. But I have no idea what cheat these people could be using.
Pls give us evidence of it
@1ronKeysmight not be a cheat at all, but the server simply overloaded sending out the combined hits in "one" packet.
The opponent might have hit you before you even get a notice bcs the server simply forgot or dropped those packets, so the info arrives at your pc all at once. this will result in you getting the impression that you got mowed down in a speed thats is physically impossible to replicate with that type of weapon.
You can experience this since the start of Apex and the issue is imho likely being found in the netcode combined with the server load/bandwidth.
This would also explain a lot of sound effects missing like opponents footsteps, devo/havoc spinning up ect. , that info simply just didnt get relayed to you in time.
probably server issue more than a cheat , i can't count how many time i killed someone that went tru a door just because of lag/ping server issue or even super slow hit register.
you never know with apex.
@1ronKeysNot sure if it's intentional or not, but far too often, getting in a fight with the kill leader in a Pub match, they shoot me before they're on my screen, or won't take the appropriate damage. So "good" players in this game seem to have the better end of hit reg for whatever reason.
With how sophisticated cheats have gotten, I wouldn't doubt that there's ways of manipulating the game in your favor and make it look like lag. I just saw a video on COD cheats, and it had a whole array of different cheats you could use, including several options for "lag". You could make yourself look like you're lagging a bit, become jittery looking.
There's some odd behavior concerning lag when going through doors. Hold 'w' while opening a door, and you'll get a prediction error.
Apex isn't really a competitive shooter, just passed off as one. It's a great game, and I'm personally over being super competitive, but 20 tick servers just doesn't cut it for tight gameplay. It's a casual game for the most part, and I think they should lean into that even further. Give players more to do then just murder each other, which I've read they might be doing? Not sure how creditable that source was, but that would be interesting.
TLDR; Cheats are wild these days. If you can imagine it, it probably can, or has already been made. Don't let others try to convince you otherwise. Cheating is a HUGE issue in shooters these days. Denying it doesn't make it go away.
