accidentally sharing EA accounts. Want to fix for Cross Progression
Me and my brother made an EA account when we were little to play Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare. Somehow when we played on separate Xbox accounts it linked both Xbox accounts to one EA account. (I get this is against TOS, but we were little and didn't understand it). When we started playing Apex Legends, it automatically used the one EA account for both of our Xbox accounts. The player data is different for each Xbox account, we both have separate usernames and levels and data, I have an heirloom and he doesn't, and I am a higher level than him.
I think this might be an issue when I want to use cross progression to get my player data off of his EA account. I would like to keep my data because I spent some money on the game.
To be specific I want to split my Xbox account off of my brothers EA account while keeping the data (like the heirloom) that is used on my Xbox. After splitting it, I want to merge my xbox account with my EA account that is tied to my Steam account while somehow keeping all the data. Also being able to do this while keeping my brothers data untuched so he can merge it with his steam account.
I feel like I am asking for a lot, and I really don't know if this is possible. but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask before I do anything drastic.
Hey @iEatMyPants,
Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer content from one EA account to another.
Progress is stored at the EA account level, not on individual platforms like Xbox. This would mean if you unlink your Xbox account to connect it to your own EA account, none of that progress would transfer with it. That would be left behind on the EA account where that was originally earned.
I'm afraid this does mean one of you will lose access to the content on that EA account, depending on who decides to move to a new or different EA account.
There are a few more details about this situation in our guides below, but if you run into any trouble with the actual unlinking process, please contact support directly so they can assist.
