Account Recovery Unsuccessful

I signed up to my EA account years ago with an email address that I no longer have access to.

I cannot play any EA games, nor can I purchase any new EA games to play because my account is now "invalid". I have tried to recover the email account with Microsoft and I am waiting for a response. I have also tried the account recovery webform with EA, but both have been closed down despite me providing a full explanation of the issue with all relevant email addresses in question, proof of purchase of the game I want to play and my Driving Licence as evidence. I downloaded half the EA games I own from EA access and that. Is also no longer working (grey screen).

Has anyone had similar issues and can anyone help me, so close to losing the will to live over this.

Is there anyway I can switch my Gamertag over to a new EA account despite me not being able to access the account it is already linked to.

This company is going to end up driving me away from gaming completely, absolute money grabbing Neanderthals, no complaints team, no dispute channel, no nothing. Just your army of crap drones that do not help in the slightest. Train your staff properly, make judgement calls like humans. Honestly, I am just going to have to switch from XBOX to PS and start all over again if I can't sort this out.

  • Hey there,

I went through the exact same issue. I got my account back but it took 15 forms over 4 weeks. The process was awful but I pushed support often for any other options and found that this is definitely the only way. Try providing proof of purchase of EA products exactly as outlined here: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/account/how-to-provide-proof-of-purchase/

I also provided an extremely extensive list, and I mean extremely extensive of my Apex Legends unlocks ie. skins/all cosmetics. To do this I made a new account, logged into Apex, scrolled through all the skins and noted from memory which ones I had on my main account.

I also provided my billing addresses, the name of my ISP and any other ISP I've been a customer of while playing in the field where they ask for your IP address.

On top of this, I listed every single EA game I've played on the account, going back 9 years. For physical games I followed the proof of purchase guidelines above if I had the receipt lying around but otherwise I provided the long number printed on the disc.

I also provided a pic of my ID showing that the name matches the one on the account.

    Hope this helps!

    I have done numerous forms.

In the last one, I provided:

    My driving license
All the dates of purchase for the last games I purchase from EA and how much I paid.
The product codes of the games from the game file info.
My console information (console ID, XBL ID).
My BFV in game stats (KD ratio, Time played etc)
Screenshots of my Gamertag and console IP address.

Someone on chat even said that they believe that I would be able to recover my account, which gave me false hope.

    Everything but the kitchen sink.

I give up, I am starting a new Gamertag soon.

Thanks for your reply but EA are a bunch of dossers. Part of me never wants to put money into one of their games ever again, but I love the franchises like battlefield etc.

My new Gamertag that I have set up is: GOD HATES EA.

I felt like giving up many times haha. I just had all my info typed up in a document and occasionally added more and copy pasted it into the webform every few days. I suggest you do the same. One thing I did find out from chat is that even though the form asks for stats, the account recovery team can't actually verify stats. They can however verify unlocks/inventory items ie. Legends in Apex, weapon skins etc.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to do. As I said, it was incredibly frustrating and took 15 forms but I was delighted when I finally succeeded.

Oh, and proof of purchase isn't valid if it isn't displayed exactly as outlined in the link in my first reply. Just make it look like the example images for your platform
