I've got an xbox 1S 1TB and was recently having problems. It may be the hd is coming to the end after 7 years of daily play. I can only hope not.
I was very through with my clean, gently removing everything and cleaning it with a small paintbrush while carefully holding a vacuum nearby, esp the nooks and crannies on the fan (also carefully removed)
I also has a look at the drive and it was badly defragmented. So i used defraggler to defragment it, I had a usb hd connector. There were 4 partitions. 3 smaller ones defragged easily but the main partition didnt do all of it for some reason. So to avoid that the next time I would delete all the games before removing the drive. Windows said there were mo bad sectors.
Then i put it back togeather, but it still wasnt running well for Fortnite, but Apex seemed to run better. I uninstalled Fortnite and reinstalled it. But yesterday it wasnt running great, but this evening it seems to be a bit better.
I have my xbox raised up to allow air flow under it, and the foam pieces that raise it up also stop any vibrations. Need to have plenty of air space around the xbox to allow heat to dissapate.
Have you checked the space on your h drive? I find older hd's do not like being over 50% full.
