Apex Freezing in the lobby after loading in

Around the Recent anti cheat update (22.05.2026) i and i think many others have had a huge problem with apex freezing in the lobby as i am reading through all the threads and forums i see a pattern. It seems to only affect Amd and Intel gpu users.

My specs:

Cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor

Gpu: AMD Radeon RX 6650XT

Ram: 16gigs of ddr4

Troubleshooting ive done:

Switched to the newest Amd Driver then tried a old driver from 2020 and a random driver from 2025.

Installed the game on the EA app: same problem.

Deleted anticheat files and the assets folder.

Reinstalled C++

Verified game Files and uninstalled and Reinstalled Apex.

is there a way to send a crash report file or something? if yes let me know i will send one immediately

Thank you for the DxDiag. You should be able to attach a crash report like you did with the DxDiag. Here are some suggestions based on what you've given me so far.

    First, disable every overlay:

    • Discord
    • Steam
    • AMD Adrenalin
    • AMD Anti-Lag
    • AMD Anti-Lag+
    • AMD ReLive
    • SteelSeries Moments
    • SteelSeries Sonar
    • Overwolf
    • MSI Afterburner
    • RTSS (RivaTuner)
    • OBS Game Capture hooks

Then, launch Apex. If that doesn't help, continue below.

Next, completely remove SteelSeries Sonar. You have SteelSeries Sonar Gaming, SteelSeries Sonar Chat and SteelSeries Sonar Microphone all installed as virtual devices. So, disable Sonar completely, reboot and set the Windows playback to A50 X Game. Then, launch Apex again.

And if that doesn't work, try running Apex with only one monitor. Disconnect the second one, reboot and try playing again.

If you still have trouble, do a Clean Boot of Windows. Run msconfig and go to Services. Hide Microsoft services. Then disable all remaining services. Go to Startup and disable everything. Reboot and launch Apex. If that works, enable everything again in batches to help narrow down what's causing the issue.

You can also try deleting anticheat. Delete C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat and C:\ProgramData\EasyAntiCheat. After that, run EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe and repair/install again.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Glad to hear it. Thanks for letting me know. Please reach out again if you have any other issues. Good luck and have fun!

  • Hey EA_Aljo

I really went back into Steam and SteelSeries and checked if i actually turned all overlays off turns out there is a few hidden ones that i forgot and now my game runs like butter again. No Stutters no crashes in sight.

Thanks for the Help, I hope some other people will look at this and also find something that worked for them.
