APEX hardlocking my PC

I am having the exact same issue, also with an RTX 2070. Our specs are almost identical as well... This issue seems to only occur with APEX and in my experience, my hardware is not strained at all. Just before I crash temps are no higher than 50C up to the moment of a hard lock, though as the OP mentions there doesn't seem to be a way to log/retain this info after the crash.

For me the problem occurs in varying degrees, and can be anything from Apex crashing to desktop, Apex causing black screen and PC reboot, or full hard lock with the GPU fans revving to 100% and staying there until a manual reset.

I've seen many recommendations which seem to always lean toward "your GPU is the problem" or "your PSU is the problem" but seeing as this issue does not happen with other games like Overwatch, ARK: Survival Evolved, Dauntless, or Sea of Thieves, most of which are either far more GPU or CPU intensive than APEX, respectively.

I heart this game and have up until recently been streaming it just fine, but frequent crashes have basically ruined it for me.

It seems that there are not a huge amount of people affected by this, but there are some, and we need help.

Yep, all other games is not lagged or crashed. Today i have 1-2 hour normal game and then 2 hardlocks in row.

I believe I've solved my issue - I see that your GPU is an Asus so it may not help, but I found out that an issue with EVGA's GPU software called Precision X1 was causing major issues, and so was the Origin in-game overlay.

After removing EVGA Precision X1 from my PC entirely, as well as disabling the overlay, I appear to have solved my problem! If you have any GPU software that may be affecting your GPU's performance, I would look into how to completely wipe it from your system on their forums, then disable the origin in-game overlay in the origin app.

Nothing help me. Game still hardlocked. And today i have a strange FPS drop during the game to 17-20 FPS. So. Thank you RESPAWN for good optimisation your game. I played 400 hrs and demo is end. Thank you. I think i back to PUBG.

Hardlocking during playing a game could be het result of multiple issues.

Most of the time it's because of out of date drivers or corrupted file's.
Make sure Windows and your BIOS is up to date.
To update your drives really easy you can use "Easy Driver"

I had some hardlocking problems myself and reinstalling windows fixed the issue.
Hardlocking could also be the result of defective RAM also know as memory.

It may be worth to run a Memory Diagnostic tool.
