Changing DNS Server
I’ve been having In match code:net issues for months now. It causes me to disconnect mid game about once every hour of playing. While I get loss forgiveness. I’ve missed out on plenty of ranked points due to my squad mates getting higher finishes that I wasn’t part of and we’ve missed out on plenty of possible wins if we had all three of us.
Yesterday amazon web services was having DNS issues which caused some people to not be able to connect to the Apex servers. I looked up online for possible solutions to this as my friends were able to play with no issues. The fix was basically to have my Xbox one connect to google’s DNS instead of automatically looking for one.
So I put in Google’s address 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and boom got right in. I then proceeded to play roughly 2 hours of no Code:net disconnects.
My question is, could changing this setting actual fix my Code:Net issues or was this just a coincidence?
I’ve had nights where I don’t have a mid match disconnect but it’s very rare. So I was hopeful this could be the fix I needed. My internet is otherwise solid.
