Cpu constantly at 100%

Hi guys, I started playing Apex Legends and game ran really well but then started randomly crashing. Once it did this I opened task manager and realized when running the game my cpu is almost constantly at 100% sometimes even in the main lobby before readying up. I have checked and all of my drivers are fully updated and my temps seem to be running at normal temperatures. Would appreciate any feedback or thoughts, thanks!

Here is my setup:

CPU - Intel Core I5 6500 @ 3.2 GHz

Ram- 16GB Dual Channel

MB - Gigabyte H170- Gaming 3

GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (EVGA)

465 GB Hitachi SSD

    I have the same processor and gpu as you. By default apex has the max frames set at 144, this will push ur cpu to 100%.  I’ve found that in fortnite the 6500 has issues when you get over 120 FPS so I lowered my FPS in apex to 100 using “+max_fps 100” in game properties -> game command line . It makes a massive difference in responsiveness.
