Cross Progression Unlink Questions

Hello,

As the title states I have a few questions on how the unlinking works. Back towards the end of last year I set up my account for Cross-Progression by unlinking my Xbox account from it's standalone EA account that was setup automatically when I started playing Apex. I then linked this account to my EA account with my steam and lost all of my progress on both my Steam and Xbox account as my Steam account was a brand new account that I had made previous but not played on.

From reading most of the posts I see on here it says to relink the Xbox account back to it's original EA account but what I don't understand is how to access this original EA account as to the fact that if I use the Xbox connection login it brings me to the new EA account, along with the email that the Xbox account was using when the automatic EA account was made. So if I unlink my Xbox account from this current Steam EA account will signing in with the Xbox standalone bring me back to the original account as it will not be linked to any account besides itself?

** And then after this I would just need to link my Steam to that original account, doing the opposite of what I did originally to make my Steam link to my Xbox's progress?)

(I.E. Xbox Accounted Merged to (-->) Steam account; Unlink Xbox from (x) Steam Account; Xbox account is now not linked so it would be back to its original account with the Microsoft/EA account on the Xbox that it originated with?)

To confirm we cannot guarantee you will be able to get your items or progress back. This is mentioned in the unlinking accounts article above:

If you unlink your platform account and link it back to your original EA Account, you may be able to get your stuff back if you still can access the account.

Here is some information that might help use here.

First, progress is stored at the EA account level (unlocks, items, progression) and not the Platform account (PSN, Xbox, etc). If you unlink a platform account from the EA account it was connected to when you made that progress you will not take it with you to another EA account, instead you will have no progress on the platform and effectively be starting over.

If you have done this, you will want to relink your Xbox back to its original account to attempt to restore progress. For more information check out our help articles.

How to link Steam and your EA Account

In order to unlink an account you will need to be able to log into your EA Account Portal and then navigate to the connected accounts under the "connections" tab. You will need to be able to sign into both the Original EA account (to relink Xbox) and the new one (to unlink any platform you wish to).

So, I unlinked my account and relinked it to the original EA account that I had. Nothing got restored when I signed back in to Apex on my Xbox. I am assuming as you keep saying that it **may** help to relink them I have completely lost everything and there's nothing I can do?
