game booting up in windows vista-like window

I've noticed that the game boots up in a window that looks like it's from the early 2000s. This never happened before I played season 4, and none of my friends seem to have the same problem.

  • I ran the Windows System Files Checker, and it says that it found corrupted files and repaired them, but unfortunately it didn’t fix the problems I’ve been having with Apex Legends.

Thanks for giving it a shot.

What happens if you set up a Clean Boot on your PC before you launch Apex Legends? If there's anything else running on the PC that could be causing this to happen that may help get around it.

For more details on how to set one up check out the EA Help website. Let me know how that goes once you have a chance. Thanks!

  • I ran a clean boot on my computer, and it unfortunately didn’t fix the problem. It could possibly be a problem with origin, but I don’t see this problem with other games in my origin library.

It is strange that it would only be affecting Apex Legends if it was an Origin issue. That said, it might be worth clearing out the Origin cache to see if that helps. If there's something wrong with the client's cached data that might help fix this.

For more info on how to clear the cache check out the EA Help website. Let me know how that goes once you've had a chance to give it a shot.

  • I just cleared the Origin cache, and there was no change to the issue.

  • @Dman10x im sorry to be late, try to reset your pc, go to windows then settings then update & security then recovery then reset this pc, delete everythig, including C and D and another drivers, then download your drivers of the motherboard and download origin, and try to play a match of Apex

Im sorry to tell you that's the only way to fix it

Not really interested in resetting my computer. The game is at least functional, so I will just wait until it goes over to steam in the fall to see if the problem will appear there.

  • @Dman10xIm sorry to hear that, hopefully it will get fixed

have yor tried to reinstalling the game on different drive  ?

@NAGAAATO I haven't tried it, but unfortunately, my c drive isn't very big (128 GB), and I would have to move a lot of programs to fit the size of the game (117 GB) into that drive. I'd rather just wait for the steam release, but thanks for the idea.
