Infinite Loading Screen / Spinning Circle on Launch via Steam
Platform: PC (Steam)
Launch Arguments Used: -dx12
I am getting stuck on the infinite loading screen (spinning red logo/circle) when launching Apex Legends through Steam. I am never able to reach the main lobby. The game was working previously, but now refuses to handshake with the servers.
Troubleshooting Steps Already Conducted:
I have exhaustively gone through standard network, software, and hardware troubleshooting. None of the following have resolved the issue:
Game & Engine Configuration:
- Forced DirectX 12 via Steam launch arguments (-dx12).
- Attempted running the game directly via r5apex_dx12.exe as an Administrator, bypassing the Steam UI.
- Turned off Steam Overlay and disabled Steam Cloud synchronization to rule out cloud profile corruption.
Account & Authentication:
- Unlinked and completely re-linked my Steam account to my EA Profile.
- Cleared the Steam download cache.
- Cleared the EA Background App cache using the "App Recovery" tool.
Local & Cache Files:
- Deleted the local configuration cache by wiping the Apex folder located inside %userprofile%\Saved Games\Respawn\.
Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC):
- Ran the EAC setup tool, verified, and repaired the Apex Legends installation.
- Attempted launching via the EAC protected executable (Start_Protected_Game.exe) as an Administrator.
Network Stack & Routing:
- Reset the IP/TCP stack using netsh int ip reset.
- Flushed Windows DNS cache completely via ipconfig /flushdns.
- Manually changed DNS server endpoints to Google Public DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) to bypass potential ISP routing blockages.
Hardware Conflicts:
- Disconnected all non-essential USB devices (external HDDs, hubs, flash drives) to prevent EAC hardware scan loops.
Given that local cache wipes, network resets, and account re-linking have failed, I suspect this is a backend account sync lock or a specific server-side profile desynchronization tied to my EA ID. Any help from an EA Community Manager to look into my account status or force a backend refresh would be greatly appreciated.
