Kbam & controller not syncing together properly

While playing Apex my controller will occasionally get taken over by the kbam and continue moving in a direction until I overpower the kbam. Almost like I have stick drift but I don't have stick drift on my controller. If someone could help me fix this issue I would greatly appreciate you.
