Main account smurf detected?

I used to play high ranked apex but ive taken long breaks and each time i come back i face off against masters every time so i stop. This time i took a break for over a YEAR yet i face off against masters even though i rank into broze and they are only masters there. How does this even make sense?
I play non ranked. Always filled too the brim with masters. 
How does your system not take account for vacancy time? So now im just smurf detected on my MAIN account for the rest of time? seems legit, no?
Being pred in season 2 does not even compare to diamond current day.
