Massive fps drop season 7
Hello, here is my problem: My apex always runs in full 60 FPS on all maps, but when I go to Olympus, there are areas that are filled with grass which make me go to 40 FPS and it's very annoying ... ...
Try this method.. It worked for me..
Download the 442.74 Driver: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/442.74/442.74-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe
Download DDU 18.0.2.9 or Newer: http://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v18029-released
Select Press {Win +r] > Msconfig > Boot(tab) > Boot Option> check the SAFE BOOT(minimal) ...
Apply and Reboot.
Run DDU (see Settings Below)
• Select: NVIDIA Software and drivers
• Select: Clean, do not restart Shutdown and Reboot.
•Back in normal Windows: Install the NVIDIA driver and go back to MSconfig > Boot Option > Unchecked safe boot
• Finish the Install
• Reboot
New Nvidia drivers are out - 461.09. Problem with fps drops in grassy areas still persists.

Ppl also reporting random stutter/micro stutter that makes no sense.Like once/twice a game from simply walking around.Earily similar to what I'm experiencing atm.
Picture of the frametimespike with latencymon https://imgur.com/a/e8RAnW2 makes no sense as latencymon picks nothing either when it happens
I hate it when people think only Nvidia cards have problem with the game.. I have a 5700XT, that can handle almost every game at the highest settings, BUT THIS GAME RUNS SO TERRIBLY BAD I can't even explain.. AMD users have problem since season 3, FPS drops are driving me crazy, it should be running at max settings with no problem, 140+ fps, instead I have fps drops down to 90 in many areas even at the lowest settings... Map doesn't matter.. ONLY! This game. Tried everything that is possible on a computer, it is the game's optimization. FIX YOUR DAMN GAME RESPAWN, PLEASE!
Wierdly for me I get no crashes/freezes or major fps drops but I do get random micro stutters.Maybe instead of getting all that my pc is somehow powering trough it and giving me random stutters instead (which are an not pleasing to look at)
Tried updating bios/gpu drivers (dducleaned) and no change.Has to be the game at this point.
Noted.. So I did an update on the Nvidia driver (Silly me) and now my FPS dropped again.. Spent the whole day uninstalling using DDU and reinstalling the old driver and FPS is still unstable.. Finally what worked is I install the latest driver and use the Nvidia Performance tuning and let it auto OC the GPU. The rest is following the same steps I did previously below:-
Download the 442.74 Driver: http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/442.74/442.74-desktop-win10-64bit-international-whql.exe
Download DDU 18.0.2.9 or Newer: http://www.wagnardsoft.com/content/display-driver-uninstaller-ddu-v18029-released
Select Press {Win +r] > Msconfig > Boot(tab) > Boot Option> check the SAFE BOOT(minimal) ...
Apply and Reboot.
Run DDU
• Select: NVIDIA Software and drivers
• Select: Clean, do not restart Shutdown and Reboot.
•Back in normal Windows: Install the NVIDIA driver and go back to MSconfig > Boot Option > Unchecked safe boot
• Finish the Install
• Reboot
My Apex FPS is running steadily at 144 fps.. :D
Hopefully this helps..
NVIDIA performance tuning is enable thru Nvidia Experince by checking the experimental features checkbox.
