I've personally encountered this whenever I had extra controllers plugged in (e.c Steering Wheel)
Have you always encountered this when using the 360 controller, or has the 360 controller worked fine before?
Typically we see this kind of issues due to problems with the software used with these controllers.
As Apex + Steam doesn't have native support for controllers, I'm assuming you're using third party software + some sort of adapter?
It seems that the analog input is constantly being repeated, which might warrant a calibration in this third party software.
Nope, no 3rd party support. Just plug in and go. XBox controllers are natively noticed by Windows 10 and drivers are automatically installed.
Calibration shows fine. Works fine with every other game. Only happens in Apex and only in lobby/inventory/menu screens.
No impacts on actual movement in game.

I thought the 360 controller couldn't be wired to the PC unless done with an adapter, otherwise there wouldn't be any input from the controller?
Could be wrong about that though, since I was unable to achieve it with my 360 controller without making use of some form of adapter/dongle.
Have you tried reinstalling the drivers for the controller?
- Kyldenar3 years agoSeasoned Ace@XHelperZ 360 Controllers were all USB as far as I know, and all I did was plug this RockCandy 360 controller into my tower and it was plug and play. Now, it's a WIRED one, not a Wireless, so that could be the difference.
Yep, tried re-installing the drivers too. No dice. Really annoying to fight with it in all menu screens, and makes having to deal with inventory nearly impossible even when NOT in a firefight.
Only game this happens with (Regularly play Hades, Alien Isolation, Cyberpunk 2077, and Destiny 2 with this same controller). So I assume their code just has the sensitivity up to 9000 or something. I did check, if I turn movment deadzone to small I do get a slow walkback, so my favorite controller seems to have developed an off center over the years, but only Apex is sensitive enough to pick it up.
Too bad there is not also a "Menu Cursor Deadzone" option. I really don't want to buy a new controller for one game (that I am thinking about quitting already) when this baby is so comfortable and familiar to me.
