  • @mustafacmb03 The game NEEDS better servers. I see this on the main menu:

Then when I was in the lobby, I checked a few times, and was getting anywhere between 100 and 400 ping.

Also, part of the problem is that it runs on 20hz servers, when most games run on 60hz. Having 20hz is BAD for a battle royal game, as it means that important information gets delayed, such as who's shooting at who, and where everyone are positioned, leading to being shot behind or around cover.

I didn't have any issues like this a week ago I don't understand what went wrong. Mixtape modes are just working fine while the battle royale mods don't. I really want to play the game but it's impossible when I have 800-900 ping

@mustafacmb03 My guess is that either cheaters are so rampant that the servers can't keep up in PC lobbies; Which makes 20hz servers worse, since 20hz is a lower refresh rate. That means it takes more time to send packets to and from the server, leading to being shot behind cover, etc.

Its also possible that console players have their own servers ran by the platform they're on, aka Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo. It would make sense as if cheaters are the main problem, (besides 20hz servers), most of them, if not all of them, are on PC or on consoles in PC lobbies. Then again, if more players are on the PC servers, then it could simply be an overload issue.

In all honesty, the game needs 60hz or higher servers. Which hz and ping are two different things.

Hz, as mentioned, is a refresh rate. Meaning how often the server responds. 20hz is slower, as it takes more time to send and receive data, which it also breaks down into smaller packets before sending. So, getting shot at can be delayed as the data for "Player 1 shooting" gets sent first, and then the data for "Player 2" (you), getting hit gets sent second. 60hz would mean that this data was sent sooner and isn't sent in smaller packets. The best way to explain hz is to compare it to FPS. No one wants to play with 20 FPS, because it means that things are slower than 60 FPS. (Also keep in mind that most animations are ran at 24 FPS or higher, so yeah, its bad).

While ping is your connection to the server; The lower, the better.

Stable gameplay comes down to two major things, 1) your connection, and 2) the server's response time. Your connection can be awesome, but if the server isn't responsive enough, good luck. The issue we seem to be having doesn't appear to be our connection, but rather the server's response time. Who knows, I just hope that EA/Respawn could give us a bit more information on what's going on, rather than us guessing.

Just played with some console friends. They said they weren't lagging and when they were spectating me, they said that I was lagging, but on my end of things, my ping was around 58 and I didn't think I was lagging at that moment. Sounds like a server issue if you ask me.

  • Bro , I literally have the same problem
