Rank Reset

I made it to Gold I last season and on reset yesterday with the new season I was dropped to Bronze IV. Meanwhile one friend I play ranked with (who also was Gold I) was only dropped to Silver IV and my other friend was Gold III and he was only dropped to Bronze I. How is it that I was dropped so much more than both of them?
