Re: Game crashes with no error

Try a clean run of the game.

This involves closing as meny other programs as possible and then run apex.

Then open programs thats are somewhat related, gpu oc's or overlays etc one at a time and rerun the game to eliminate a program from the cause.

  • Yep, I'm doing that. Next I will try to play without Afterburner.

Thank you for your all recommendations, I will keep you updated.

  • Crashed during my second game. No Afterburner or similar programs, I have done all the steps you said but still... I immediately looked to the Event Viewer, nothing there. I even disabled Origin in-game overlay, meh. I think Origin might causing this problem but just an intuition.

@Parasite12000 I don't see .local in Apex folder.

@EA_Darko I don't want to cap fps because it is not stable, goes between 35-60 but I will try capping it to 30 if I can't find any solution. It's my last chance.

    Give this a try:
    Download DDU:

    • Install
    • run DDU
    • Have it reboot in to Safe mode
    • Run DDU
    • Select: NVIDIA software and Drivers
    • Select: Clean and Restart

Once done try install that driver again.

    then run apex

If not try my guide under the core windows maintenence section.

The mmc.exe closing is something windows related so i wish to check the system out before blaming apex.

the guide i posted should sort out whats wrong

  • I will give it a try, thank you. 👍

I was thinking about performing a clean Windows installation before Apex, maybe it is time.

the guide should sort everything out in terms of out of date drivers.

either that you got a virus

  • I did a clean Windows installation 4 days ago, no crash so far. So I can say the problem is most likely resolved. Thanks for the help, I appreciated.

By the way I totally forgot about Wallpaper Engine running in the background, I'm not using it for now. Maybe later I will try to use it but W.E. might be the problem. Other players: If you are using W.E. and experiencing crashes in Apex, try to disable it.

    Good day.
