Re: Steam Version of Apex Legends Lags In Lobby With 300+ Friends

Also, I'm thinking it's related to the amount of friends because I have friends that play the game with no issues and around the same specs as me (with considerably less people on their friends list). This also did not happen on the Origin version of the game and I have 49 friends (total on Origin) on there. The latency also goes away if I navigate away from the main UI, (pressing escape or being in the settings menu). It shoots back up to 100+ frames, which is where I was before moving over to the Steam version. Also, once I'm in the game the latency goes away, for the most part.

    Hi, a patch was rolled recently which addressed this, and some other issues. Do you still encounter this after updating?

    @EA_DavidIf it's the patch that was released on the 9th, then no. It is still happening. Just logged in (seconds ago) and I get a max of 12 fps in the lobby and a max of 96 if I press ESC to bring up the 'Setting/Exit Game' options.

    @EA_DavidAgain, with the update that was released today. No improvements with the fps. Still maxing out at about 12-18 FPS and then shooting up to 100+ after pressing escape to bring up the 'Settings/Exit To Desktop' Options, along with some other areas of the games character customization menus.

    Looks like the latest version fixed it as I just logged on and didn't have any latency issues in the main menu. Though, the game logged me out of my Origin account and I had to log back in using the Steam overlay.

    Everything seems to be 100% now.
