Rubber-banding/lag despite 0% packet loss, 0 choke
Hi,
I'm experiencing consistent rubber-banding and warping during matches in Apex Legends, severe enough that it caused a game crash on one occasion. This issue is isolated to Apex specifically — I've tested extensively and other online games run completely fine.
What's happening:
-During active lag/rubber-banding, the in-game Performance Display shows: Ping 71ms, 0/35 packet loss, 0/0 choke, 180 FPS — all healthy numbers despite visible rubber-banding on screen.
-This started right after I had to repair/reinstall the EasyAntiCheat_EOS service due to a 30005 error (code 1072), which was preventing the game from launching at all.
- CPU and GPU usage stay low (10-20%) throughout, ruling out a hardware bottleneck.
Troubleshooting already completed:
- Full uninstall and reinstall of Apex Legends
- Verified integrity of game files via Steam
- Confirmed correct/closest data center selected, with clean ping and 0% packet loss shown there too
- Reset Windows network stack (winsock reset, IP reset, DNS flush)
- Reinstalled WiFi adapter driver (MediaTek Wi-Fi 7 MT7925)
- Disabled WiFi power-saving mode
- Confirmed no VPN, proxy, or conflicting network adapters present
- Confirmed no bandwidth-heavy background processes running (checked via Resource Monitor)
- Tested on mobile hotspot (bypassing home router/ISP entirely) — issue persisted
- Ruled out router/ISP issues via pathping (0% loss across all hops) and confirmed other devices on the same network get full speed
- Confirmed no third-party network tuning software (e.g., cFosSpeed, Network Boost) installed
Given that Apex's own in-game diagnostics show a clean connection during the exact moments of lag, and everything on my end has been ruled out, this looks like it may be a server-side tick/interpolation issue rather than a client or connection problem. Could you please check for any known issues with my region/data center, or advise on next steps?
Happy to provide additional logs, DxDiag, or a recording of the issue if helpful.
Thanks for your help.
